Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Intermittent Power Outages Possible this Evening – July 23, 2021
JCP&L is currently conducting repairs in Lacey Township. As a result, they have informed us the Township may experience some intermittent power outages throughout the remainder of the evening.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – July 16th through July 21st, 2021
DWI, Obstruction of Justice, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats- On Friday, July 16, 2021, at 6:58 p.m., Officer Keefe responded to the area of Chestnut Drive, for a report of a driver who was possibly intoxicated. The caller also reported they had just been involved in a verbal dispute with the driver. Officer Keefe observed the vehicle described by the caller traveling in the area, before it parked in the driveway of a residence. The driver was identified as Scott Corcoran, 57, of Lanoka Harbor. During his investigation, Officer Keefe suspected Corcoran of driving while intoxicated. Corcoran ignored Officer Keefe’s commands and resisted arrest. Additional Officers responded. Corcoran was ultimately placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Obstruction of Justice, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, and Terroristic Threats. The charges were placed on a Warrant and Corcoran was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Faculty. DWI/MVA- On Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 11:21 p.m., Officer Holt and Officer Gant responded to Route 9 and Clearwater Drive, for a report of a three car motor vehicle crash. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – July 8 through July 15, 2021
Disorderly Conduct- On Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 9:21 p.m., Officers Brian Holt and Scott Keefe were dispatched to the Cedar Creek Trestle on the Rail Trail in reference to a fight. Officers discovered that a large group of juveniles were involved in a physical altercation prior to their arrival. One juvenile reported that her cell phone was stolen during the incident. Arrest- On Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 10:15 a.m., members of the detective bureau executed a search warrant at a Clearview Street residence. The warrant was sought in reference to an assault that took place inside the home on July 4, 2021. The homeowner, Daniel Hinton, was ultimately arrested and charged with Certain Persons Not to Possess a Weapon, Terroristic Threats, and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility without bail. Arrest- On Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 8:45 a.m., detectives arrested a Forked River man in reference to a theft. The investigation began on June 18, 2021, when a victim reported that his vehicle was stolen from a Sunrise Beach residence. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 11 through November 18, 2021
MVA- On Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 2:24 p.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella investigated a motor vehicle accident on West Lacey Road. It was reported that the accident occurred when the 85 year-old driver of one vehicle turned in front of another vehicle being operate by a 72 year-old Forked River resident. Although the vehicles did not collide, the second vehicle was forced to leave the roadway and strike a traffic sign. Through video surveillance, Officer Ricciardella was able to determine that Charles Hicks, 51, was the driver of the first vehicle and not his mother Joan Hicks. Charles was charged criminally with Operating a Motor Vehicle During License Suspension. Joan was charged with Hindering the Apprehension. Both were released on their own recognizance pending a Court appearance. Assault- On Friday, November 12, 2021, at 4:31 p.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and Elton Copes were dispatched to a Harris Road residence for a landlord/tenant dispute. The owner of the home, Sean Mahoney, 51, was issued a summons for simple assault after striking the tenant. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 4 through November 11, 2021
Burglary- On Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 10:32 a.m., Officer Michael Hein was dispatched to Key West Road in reference to theft from a vehicle. The victim reported that during overnight hours, an unknown suspect(s) stole tools, cash and medication from his vehicle. The actor is suspected to have gained entry through a broken window that was covered with plastic. Arrest- On Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 12:42 a.m., Officers Randy Plis and Brian Holt encountered a Long Branch man sleeping in his vehicle at Wawa, 444 Route 9. During their interaction, officers discovered an outstanding warrant for the driver, William Greene-Vonglahn, 26. While being placed under arrest, Vonglahn was found in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Vonglahn was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. He was later lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility on the strength of the warrant. Fraud- On Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 9:17 p.m., Officer Dan Biel met with a Forked River resident in reference to fraud. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – October 28 through November 4, 2021
Storm Conditions- On Friday, October 29, 2021, officers fielded an extensive amount of calls in connection with a severe storm. In many waterfront neighborhoods, tides exceeded normal limits causing flooding and damage. High winds resulted in falling trees leading to damaged property. Arrest- On Friday, October 29, 2021, at 5:30 p.m., Officer Bruce Carver was dispatched to Wawa, 444 Route 9, for a subject causing a disturbance. The actor, Moses Sutton, was ultimately arrested for an outstanding warrant issued by the Barnegat Township Municipal Court. Sutton was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of $1,000 bail. DWI- On Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 9:34 p.m., our agency received a call in reference to an erratic driver. The vehicle was located on Bowsprit Drive and the operator was identified as Samantha Mazzeo, 29. The investigation led to the arrest of Samantha for DWI. She was processed and later released after being charged with DWI and Reckless Driving. Arrest- On Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 12:27 a.m., Officers Anthony Ravallo and Dan Biel conducted a motor vehicle stop after a violation.
