Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Lacey Police Narcotics Unit Makes Arrests for Cocaine and Methamphetamine
The Lacey Township Police Detectives recently completed an ongoing drug investigation into cocaine distribution. The investigation began after information was obtained that a resident from Maui Drive in Forked River, was distributing cocaine from his residence. Search warrants were obtained for both the residence and the vehicle of the suspect, identified as 32-year-old John Appleby, 3rd. On the afternoon of Saturday, March 18, 2017, detectives from the Lacey Township Police Narcotics Unit executed search warrants for the suspect’s Maui Drive residence and his vehicle. John Appleby was stopped while he was traveling northbound on Route 9 in Forked River in his Jeep Rubicon. During the search of his vehicle, detectives discovered approximately one ounce of cocaine and a small amount of methamphetamine. John Appleby and his passenger, identified as 19-year-old Samantha Matthias of Maui Drive in Forked River, were both arrested and the Jeep Rubicon was impounded. The search of the Maui Drive residence revealed digital scales and packaging consistent with distribution. Both John Appleby and Samantha Matthias were charged with Possession of Controlled Substances, Intent to Distribute more than One-Half Ounce of Cocaine, and Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – UPDATE – 2017 Junior Police Academy, July 10th through July 14th, 2017
2017 JUNIOR POLICE ACADEMY (July 10th through July 14th, 2017) The Lacey Township Police Department will be hosting a five-day Junior Police Academy beginning on July 10th, 2017 (July 10th, 2017 through July 14th, 2017). The Junior Police Academy is designed to provide an exciting and challenging training experience for young adults who may be interested in a law enforcement career. Junior recruits will participate in many phases of crime scene investigations, tactical operations, traffic safety, drug awareness and narcotic investigations. A junior recruit will also be asked to participate in daily physical training and military etiquette. The requirements for the Junior Police Academy include: The potential recruit must be a Lacey Township Middle School 7th grade graduate entering into the 8th grade The potential recruit shall complete an essay detailing why he or she should be chosen for the Junior Police Academy The potential recruit shall submit a completed application The potential recruit must maintain an outstanding moral and ethical character at all times The potential recruit must demonstrate the willingness to participate in physical training and investigations Junior Police Academy Process: The Junior Police Academy will be open to 30 recruits.
