Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Update for Junior Police Academy – July 10th through July 14th, 2017
2017 JUNIOR POLICE ACADEMY (July 10th through July 14th, 2017) The Lacey Township Police Department will be hosting a five-day Junior Police Academy beginning on July 10th, 2017 (July 10th, 2017 through July 14th, 2017). The Junior Police Academy is designed to provide an exciting and challenging training experience for young adults who may be interested in a law enforcement career. Junior recruits will participate in many phases of crime scene investigations, tactical operations, traffic safety, drug awareness and narcotic investigations. A junior recruit will also be asked to participate in daily physical training and military etiquette. The requirements for the Junior Police Academy include: The potential recruit must be a Lacey Township Middle School 7th grade graduate entering into the 8th grade The potential recruit shall complete an essay detailing why he or she should be chosen for the Junior Police Academy The potential recruit shall submit a completed application The potential recruit must maintain an outstanding moral and ethical character at all times The potential recruit must demonstrate the willingness to participate in physical training and investigations Junior Police Academy Process: The Junior Police Academy will be open to 30 recruits. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – March 31st through April 6th, 2017
Shoplifting, Possession of Heroin and Possession of Marijuana - On Thursday, April 6, 2017, at 10:56 p.m., Officers Michael Baldasari, Jason Lee, and Michael Verwey responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for three shoplifters. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 40-year-old Grover Blair of 4th Street in New Brunswick, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $1800, hindering apprehension by initially providing a false name to police officers and for possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, three outstanding warrants were located for his arrest. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and was a no-bail warrant. Warrant number two (2) was issued from the East Brunswick Municipal Court in the bail amount of $500 and warrant number three (3) was issued from the New Brunswick Municipal Court in the bail amount of $200. Furthermore 23-year-old Dashaunna Jennings of West Main Street in Bound Brook, NJ, was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $1800, Possession of Heroin and Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. 28-year-old Shante Walker of Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick, NJ, was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $1800. Department News – Lacey Township Police and Ocean County Sheriff – Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection and Child ID Event, Tomorrow, April 8th, 2017
Child ID and Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection Event (taking place during the Goddard School's 3rd Annual Township-wide egghunt) – The Ocean County Sheriff's Department and the Lacey Township Police Department are hosting a courtesy (non-enforcement) Child Seat Safety Checkpoint and Child ID station, tomorrow morning, April 8th, 2017. The Child Seat Safety Check will be held in the rear parking lot of Layton's, located at 250 Lacey Road in Forked River (located across from the Goddard School, 214 Lacey Road) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Ocean County Sheriff's Child ID will be held in the parking lot of the Goddard School, located at 214 Lacey Road from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Specially trained certified child seat technicians from the Lacey Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department will be on site at Layton's to conduct the courtesy child seat inspections of installed seats and to assist participants in the proper installations of child seats.
