Weather Notice – Lacey Twp. Police Department/Office of Emergency Management – Coastal Flood Advisory – August 21, 2021
*** Coastal Flood Advisory *** The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for 7pm this evening, August 21, 2021 through 1am Sunday morning, August 22, 2021. * WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Tidal portions of Cape May, Ocean, Monmouth, and Middlesex Counties in New Jersey. * WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 1 AM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some road closures. Usually, the most vulnerable roadways will flood. Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – August 12th through August 19th, 2021
Disorderly Conduct- On Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 7:39 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins was waived down by a passing motorist reporting an altercation at the intersection of Route 9 and Lacey Road. Officer Watkins responded and identified the parties as the passenger of a vehicle and the operator of a motorcycle. Investigation revealed that during a verbal dispute, the motorcycle operator, Richard Cangiano, 57, struck the windshield of the car. The vehicle’s passenger, Anthony Senatore, 63, exited the vehicle and punched Cangiano multiple times. Cangiano was charged with Disorderly Conduct while Senatore was issued a summons for Simple Assault. Both were released pending a Court appearance. DWI- On Sunday, August 15, 2021, at 5:38 p.m., Officers Michael Baldasari and Michael Hyle arrested an intoxicated driver in the parking of Wawa, Lanoka Harbor. Uriel Gonzalez, 39, was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Unlicensed Driver, and Open Container in a Motor Vehicle. Gonzalez was released and provided a Court date. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – August 5th through August 12th, 2021
Fire- On Friday, August 6, 2021, at 10:31 p.m., Officer Nyeem Calhoun was dispatched to a Mallard Drive residence in reference to a fire. Upon arrival, a fully engulfed dumpster was found in the driveway of the residence. After being extinguished by the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department, the fire was deemed non-suspicious by the Ocean County Fire Marshal. Theft- On Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 10:16 p.m., Officers Scott Keefe and Nyeem Calhoun responded to the Forked River Beach Bayfront Park in reference to subjects removing signs. The officers located and identified the actors as Kyle Lindemann, 20, of Howell, and Lucas Newholme, 18, of Waretown. Both actors were charged with Theft of Moveable Property as the officers recovered five township owned signs. Lindemann and Newholme were also charged with a local ordinance violation for being in the park after hours. Arrest- On Sunday, August 8, 2021, at 10:25 p.m., officers served an arrest warrant at a Leguene Avenue home. Once inside the residence, Ronald Sileo was located hiding in the garage. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – December 29, 2021 through January 6, 2022
Shoplifting- On Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 7:26 a.m., Officers Michael Baldasari and Michael Hein were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a theft. Loss Prevention reported that they observed an adult female place items in her purse and attempted to exit the store while avoiding the registers. Jennifer Ross, 39, was arrested and charged with Shoplifting. She was released pending a Court appearance. Arrest- On Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 11:01 a.m., Officers Michael Hyle and Michael Hein responded to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Lacey Historical Society. Officers discovered the driver, William Greene-Vonglahn, 26, unresponsive in the driver’s seat. Once William was alert, officers deemed him under the influence placing him under arrest. During a search incident to his arrest, Vonglahn was found in possession of heroin. Vonglahn was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, DWI, Reckless Driving, and Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor Vehicle. He was released on his own recognizance in accordance with bail reform. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – December 23 through December 29, 2021
Fraud- On Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 6:50 p.m., Wawa, 701 Route 9, Lanoka Harbor, reported that counterfeit cash was discovered in their deposits. Management conveyed that two $100 bills were deemed counterfeit as they attempted to deposit them into an electronic safe. Surveillance video captured two suspects using the bills for a transaction. DUI- On Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 7:34 p.m., numerous 911 callers reported an erratic driver traveling east on Lacey Road. Officers located the vehicle at a Hillwood Road residence in Forked River, and identified the driver as John Hofer, 55. After being determined under the influence, Hofer was arrested and charged with several motor vehicle offenses including DUI, Refusal to Submit Breath Samples, and Reckless Driving. Criminal Mischief- On Friday, December 24, 2021, at 11:48 p.m., officers responded to the Lacey Inn, 229 Route 9 North, Forked River, in reference to criminal mischief. Officer Dylan Emmett issued a summons to Brian Kelly, 43, after it was determined that he harassed a tenant by writing on the hotel room’s entry door. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – December 16, 2021 through December 23, 2021
Burglary- On Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 10:31 a.m., Officer Matthew D’Antonio and Detective Jesse Dalziel responded to a commercial burglary at Family Dentistry on Route 9. Officers discovered that an unknown actor(s) forcibly entered the business and stole minor items valued at $300. Damage to the business was estimated at $1,500. Gas Leak- On Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 3:34 p.m., Officer John Simonson was dispatched to the 100 block of Nautilus Boulevard for a reported smell of natural gas. Officer Simonson located a relief valve at the edge of the road that was leaking a large volume of gas. Several homes in the immediate area were evacuated while New Jersey Natural Gas contained the leak. Nautilus Boulevard was closed for several hours during the repair. DWI- On Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 11:08 p.m., officers were requested at Wawa, 701 Route 9, in reference to an intoxicated female. Officer Scott Keefe located Susan Loudermilk in her vehicle that was parked in the lot. Loudermilk was arrested and charged with DWI, Refusal to Provide Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, and Unregistered Vehicle. She was released pending a Court date.
