Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – July 6th through July 13th, 2017
Shoplifting Arrest – On Thursday, July 13, 2017, at approximately 6:17 p.m., Officers John McKee, Patrick Watkins and Sergeant Robert Flynn responded to a the Staples parking lot in reference to a shoplifter that fled the store with the items. The Shoplifter 46-year-old Ronald R. Fariss Jr, of 45 Locker Street, Beachwood, NJ fled the scene on a bicycle and refused officers commands to stop. He was pursued into Berkeley Township where he was taken into custody by Officer Patrick Watkins after resisting arrest. He was charged with multiple charges consisting of; Resisting Arrest, Eluding, Hindering Apprehension, Obstructing, Aggravated Assault, Shoplifting, Criminal Mischief, and Possession of an Anti-Shoplifting device. Criminal Mischief – On Thursday, July 13, 2017, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to a residence on Barnacle Road in Forked River for a report of criminal mischief. The victim reported that while they were in the garage of the residence, unknown person(s) had just thrown large rocks through three front windows of the residence. The rocks damaged three windows, three sets of blinds, two, coffee tables, a mirror, and a 52 inch Toshiba television. The damage is estimated at $3000. Criminal Mischief – [...]
Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – 1st Annual National Night Out, August 1st, 2017
*** Update *** I am happy to announce that the Lacey Township Police Department will be presenting our 1st annual National Night Out, on Tuesday, August 1st, 2017. The event will take place on the south side of Gille Park, 56 Manchester Avenue, Forked River, 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The purpose of this event is to strengthen law enforcement and community partnerships, and promote drug and DUI prevention and education. The event kickoff will take place at 6:30 p.m. with the National Anthem, being performed by 17-year-old Lyndsey Supsie from Lanoka Harbor. This event will offer a variety of entertainment for all ages to enjoy. The Lacey Township Police Department, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and the New Jersey State Police will be on site. Each agency will present different pieces of law enforcement equipment and apparatus. The Lacey Township Police Department will have patrol vehicles on scene and will be available for photographs with visitors. Have your son or daughter take a picture with one of our officers in their favorite police car. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Power Has Been Restored – July 9, 2017
***** UPDATE 8:01 P.M. JULY 9, 2017 ***** THE POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED IN LACEY TOWNSHIP AND ALL TRAFFIC LIGHTS ARE FUNCTIONING Today (July 9, 2017) at 5:30 p.m., Lacey Township experienced a power outage throughout most of the township. Ocean Township (Waretown) and Barnegat Township also experienced the power outage. Approximately 25,000 combined residents were without power. In addition, in Lacey Township, all of the traffic lights were out, except for those traffic lights north of Lacey Road on Route 9 (except for Route 9 and Musket). The traffic lights were controlled by police officers during the power outage. It appears the outage was caused by a blown transformer located off -site at Oyster Creek (Exelon), located at 800 Route 9 South in Forked River. The blown transformer also caused a brush fire that had to be extinguished by the Forked River Fire Department and the New Jersey State Forrest Fire Service. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release May 7, 2013 thru May 13, 2013 . Burglary of a Business - On Monday, May 13, 2013, at 6:55 a.m., officers responded to the Forked River Pharmacy, 605 Route 9 S, Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief and an attempted burglary of the pharmacy. The incident occurred between the time the pharmacy closed on Sunday, May 12, 2013 and the early morning hours of Monday May 13, 2013. Unknown suspect(s) pried open a rear door at the Forked River Pharmacy but did not gain entry to the main part of the store. Damage is estimated at $500. Nothing appeared to be stolen at the time of the report and Detective Robert Surtees is continuing the investigation. Criminal Mischief – On Monday May 13, 2013, a resident of the 300 Block of Devon Street reported criminal mischief to two separate vehicles while the vehicles were parked at the victim’s residence. The victim stated that the two vehicles had been scratched with a key (or similar object) between May 5, 2013 and May 11, 2013. The total damage is estimated to be in excess of $300. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release April 30th thru May 6th, 2013 . Multiply Warrants/Suspended Driver – At approximately 1:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas performed a random inquiry of a vehicle’s license plate. Upon doing so, it was determined that the vehicle’s owner, Eric Kaboski, age 33 of Forked River, had a suspended driver's license and numerous traffic warrants. Eric Kaboski’s vehicle was stopped on Rt. 9 near Oyster Creek, and he was arrested on the strength of the following warrants: Lacey Township - $600; Holmdel - $300; and Ocean Township (Waretown) - $250. Eric Kaboski was transported to police headquarters where he released after posting the required bail and receiving a summons for driving while suspended. Shoplifter – At 12:30 a.m., on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, Officers George Resetar and Andrew Slota responded to Walmart for a shoplifter being detained. Upon their arrival, 32-year-old Tracey Zitzner of Forked River was arrested for shoplifting. She allegedly attempted to conceal merchandise valued at $31.98 on her person. Tracey Zitzner was later processed and released from police headquarters after receiving a criminal summons. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release April 23rd thru April 30th, 2013 . DUI Arrest - At approximately 11:30 p.m., on Monday, April 29, 2013, Officer Charles May conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle for driving without headlamps on Rt. 9 near Taylor Lane. Investigation led to the vehicle’s driver, 33-year-old Matthew Foster of Forked River, being arrested and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Maintenance of Lamps. Matthew Foster also received a criminal summons for Possession of Handgun Ammunition without first obtaining a New Jersey Firearms Identification Card. Shoplifting Arrest - At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013, Officers Adam Ewart and Jeffrey Slota responded to Walmart for a shoplifter being detained. Upon arrival of the officers, 24-year-old Brittany Gibson of Forked River was arrested for shoplifting. She was charged with shoplifting for attempting to conceal merchandise valued at $187.73 on her person. Brittany Gibson was later processed and released from police headquarters after receiving a criminal summons. Shoplifting Arrest - At approximately 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, April 28, 2013, Officers Alan Abrecht and Evan Androcy responded to Walmart for a shoplifter being detained.
