Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – 1st Annual National Night Out (Update) – August 1st, 2017, 6pm to 11pm
*** Update *** I am happy to announce that the Lacey Township Police Department will be presenting our 1st annual National Night Out, on Tuesday, August 1st, 2017. The event will take place on the south side of Gille Park, 56 Manchester Avenue, Forked River, 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The purpose of this event is to strengthen law enforcement and community partnerships, and promote drug and DUI prevention and education. The event kickoff will take place at 6:30 p.m. with the National Anthem, being performed by 17-year-old Lyndsey Supsie from Lanoka Harbor. God Bless America will then be performed by 18-year-old McKenzie Hupke from Forked River. This event will offer a variety of entertainment for all ages to enjoy. The Lacey Township Police Department, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and the New Jersey State Police will be on site. Each agency will present different pieces of law enforcement equipment and apparatus. The Lacey Township Police Department will have patrol vehicles on scene and will be available for photographs with visitors. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Free Narcan Training – Monday, August 14th, 2017, 6pm to 8pm
*** Free Narcan Training *** On Monday, August 14, 2017, from 6pm to 8pm, Narcan (Naloxone) training will be offered for free at the Forever Young Nursery School, located at 103 Lacey Road in Forked River. The event is being hosted by YPR of Ocean County (Young People in Recovery) and the training will be provided by Urban Treatment Associates, 808 Market Street in Camden, NJ 08102. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – July 14th through July 20th, 2017
Burglary and Theft (Construction Equipment) – On Thursday, July 20, 2017, at 8:55 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to police headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that between July 7, 2017 and July 18, 2017, an unknown person or persons stole several batteries from his Terex backhoe while it was parked on the 400 block of Route 9 South in Forked River. The theft is estimated at $300. Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Thursday, July 20, 2017, at 7:51 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to Ambermist Way in Forked River, for a theft report. The complainant, who is the on-site supervisor for a construction company, reported that between 4:30 p.m. on July 19, 2017 and 7:51 a.m. on July 20, 2017, an unknown person or persons smashed out a window on a company van and stole two framing nail-guns valued at $800. The Lacey Township Police Detective Bureau responded and is investigating. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release June 25th thru July 1st, 2013 . Burglary in Progress (Arrests) – On Monday, July 1, 2013, at 8:12 p.m., Officers Robert Duffy and George Resetar responded to a residence located on the 1200 block of Olds Street in Forked River concerning the home being burglarized. The resident returned home and witnessed two males exiting the residence. The homeowner was able to supply a description of the suspects who were quickly located in the area by the responding officers. It was discovered that a wallet containing personal identification and a debit card were stolen from a bedroom in the residence. Several additional items had been strewn about the same bedroom.The two suspects were identified as 20-year-old Joseph Ferenc of Forked River and 21-year-old Shawn C. Kaliske of Forked River. Both were arrested and charged with Burglary and Theft and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of their bail which was set at $10,000 each. Weekly Police Blotter – Press Release June 19th thru June 24th, 2013 . Recovered Handgun - On Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 11:48 p.m., a resident of the 900 block of Clifton Street in Forked River reported that unknown person(s) entered their residence when they were not home and stole various items. One of the items stolen was a black, Ruger, 357 revolver (handgun) with brown grips. On Tuesday, June 25, 2013, the stolen handgun was recovered in Franklin Township (Sommerset County). The matter is under continuing investigation. Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle & Criminal Mischief - On Sunday, June 23, 2013, at approximately 4:27 a.m., Officer Resetar responded to the area of Steuben Avenue for a report of a vehicle having damaged yards and mailboxes in the area. Upon further investigation, it was determined that 20-year-old Matthew Uveges of Forked River unlawfully took a work truck from a yard on Haines Street and purposely drove onto the property of several residences and destroyed mailboxes in the Lanlac Drive and Cranberry Hill section of the Township. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release June 11th thru June 18th, 2013 . Child Pornography – On Monday, June 17, 2013, Detective Robert Surtees assisted investigators of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office with the execution of a search warrant at a Lakewood Avenue residence in Lanoka Harbor. An arrest was made at the scene of 33-year-old Chad Zehner for child pornography related crimes. Chad Zehner was processed at Lacey Township Police Headquarters and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of $35,000 bail. Trespassing Damage – On Monday, June 17, 2013, at 12:14 a.m.,Officers Charles May and Robert Flynn responded to Clayton Gravel, 2215 Lacey Road in Forked River, due to a report of a pickup truck trespassing on the property. The officers located and stopped the pickup as it was attempting to flee the property. The driver, 41-year-old Colin Apanel of Toms River, was issued a township ordinance violation for operating a vehicle on private property. A passenger inside the pickup, 24-year-old Troy Apanel of Beachwood, also received a township ordinance violation for being on the private property as well as a summons for breaking Clayton Gravel’s padlock.
