Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Ocean County Health Department KI Distribution and Event, August 29th, 2017
*** Ocean County Health Department KI Distribution and Event, August 29th, 2017 *** On Tuesday, August 29, 2017, the Ocean County Health Department is having a Potassium Iodide (KI) Distribution Clinic and event at the Lacey Township High School, located at 73 Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor. The event is taking place between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Residents living and/or working within a 10 mile radius of Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant may obtain or exchange their expired K.I. This event will be offering Health Screening Services including Blood Pressure Screening, Stroke Risk Assessment, Glucose Screening, Cholesterol Screening, and Medication Management. In addition, there will be Health Education Services including Alcohol and Drug Prevention, Intoxicated Driver Resources, Environmental Health, Communicable Diseases, and Emergency Preparedness. Furthermore the Lacey Township Police Department will be on site with our Project Medicine (Prescription Drug) Drop-box. The box provides the public with a method to properly dispose of unwanted medication in a safe and legal manner. Please note that no syringes or liquids may be dropped in the box. OCPO/LACEY PD DOUBLE HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UPDATE
Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Lacey Police Chief Michael DiBella today announced that the double homicide at 212 Nautilus Blvd in Lacey Township is the apparent result of a marital dispute. Prosecutor Coronato stated, “I hesitantly make this announcement in light of the relentless media interest and subsequent coverage in hopes of quickly putting this sad episode to rest. It is my hope to minimize the trauma to these families in any way possible.” The investigating agencies, after conferring with the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office, now identify the victims as and the causes and manners of death as: Kimberly Dunphey (Wife/Victim), age 48, Cause of Death: Blunt force trauma injuries, Manner of Death: Homicide. Owen Scott (Son/Victim), age 7, Cause of Death: Blunt force trauma injuries, Manner of Death: Homicide. The suspected perpetrator is Gregg Scott, husband of Kimberly Dunphey and father of Owen Scott. His post mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted later today. Those results will be released when available. OCPO/LACEY PD INVESTIGATING HOMICIDE
Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Lacey Police Chief Michael DiBella today sadly announced the partnering departments are investigating a double homicide that took place within Lacey Township. Members of the Lacey Police Department initially responded to 212 Nautilus Blvd, Wednesday, August 16, at approximately 4:02 pm for the report of a suspicious event. At this time, the investigation is in its preliminary stages. The one thing we can state definitively is that this event is over, contained and presents absolutely no danger to the surrounding community. Presently the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit, Lacey Township Police Department, Ocean County Sherriff’s Department CSI Unit, and the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office are all involved in processing the scene in order to get a clear picture of what took place. As of now, we can only confirm that this event involved a family to include a husband, wife, child and family dog. All are deceased. The wife, age 48, a male child, age 7, and male Welsh Corgi dog are allegedly all victims and were pronounced dead at the scene. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release October 2nd thru October 7th, 2013 . Theft - On Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 1:52 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick and Officer Anthony Sarno responded to Shell Gasoline (922 Lacey Road) in reference to a theft report. A 20-year-old male from Center Street in Forked River reported that $1,000 was stolen from his house sometime between 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 and 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013. The reporting person stated he had $1,900 cash in an envelope in a drawer in his bedroom. He stated that he had an 18-year-old friend from Tappan Street in Forked River over around 11:00 a.m. on October 2, 2013 and when she left an hour later he noticed that the money was missing. The friend was questioned by police and denied being involved in the theft. Criminal Mischief – On Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 7:05 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to an Elwood Street residence in Forked River for a report of criminal mischief. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release September 24th, 2013 thru September 30th, 2013 . . Burglary and Theft – On Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to Lakeside Drive North in reference to a burglary of a residence. The resident reported that between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, an unknown actor or actors entered the unsecured residence while no one was home and stole property that included a digital camera and a laptop computer. The value of the theft was estimated at $1,250. Criminal Mischief – On Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 3:48 p.m., a resident of Bobwhite Court in Forked River reported that on Sunday, September 22, 2013, at approximately 6:00 p.m., he was walking the rail-trail, south of Wawa on Taylor Lane, and noticed some criminal mischief. The resident reported that two posts, that prevent vehicles from crossing the bridge, were pulled from the ground and thrown into the creek. . Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release September 17th thru September 23, 2013 . . Criminal Mischief – On Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at 10:01 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick took a report of criminal mischief to a 1992, Gray, GMC Suburban while it was parked in the roadway in front of 220 Lane Place in Forked River. The victim reported that sometime between the overnight hours of Sunday, September 8, 2013 into September 9, 2013, an unknown person or persons damaged the driver side mirror on his vehicle that was parked in the street in front of his house. The estimated damage is $200. Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at 12:13 a.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to the Wawa (Route 9 and Taylor Lane) in reference to a theft. An employee stated that a male and female walked into the store together and then while the employee was distracted, the male subject reached over the counter and grabbed a carton of Marlboro Red cigarettes.
