Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Township News – Lacey Twp. Police and Lacey Twp. Recreation – Next Gille Park Skate Park Evening Event – September 22, 2017
Gille Park Skate Park Evening Event Scheduled for This Friday, September 22, 2017. The next Gille Park Skate Park Evening event will be held this Friday night, September 22nd, 2017, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The skate park will be open from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 pm, with a live DJ playing music. Lighting will be provided by the Lacey Township Police Department with assistance from both the Forked River and Lanoka Harbor Fire Departments. In addition, both the Lacey Township EMS and Lanoka Harbor EMS will be on scene. The Lacey Municipal Police Foundation and the Lacey Township Municipal Alliance have partnered together to bring a mobile gaming trailer to this event. The mobile gaming trailer will be provided by "Party Crashers" and will be at the skate park from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Age appropriate games will be available to the kids. The "Party Crashers" mobile gaming trailer participated in last year's Lacey Day Event, and has participated in numerous events throughout Ocean County. The skate park is specifically for the use of skateboards, scooters, and in-line skates. Bicycles are not permitted. Township News – Lacey Township Police Officers and Forked River Firefighters Receive Team Award of Valor – September 2017
The above photo depicts (from left to right) Lacey Police Chief Michael C. DiBella, Lacey Police Officer Christopher Meyler, Lacey Police Officer Anthony Sarno, Forked River Firefighter Edward Barker, Jr., Forked River Firefighter Robert Anderson and Lacey Police Sergeant Robert Surtees, during the 2017 National Liberty Museum Awards of Valor held in Philadelphia, PA, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Team Award of Valor - On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, Lacey Police Officers Anthony Sarno and Christopher Meyler, along with Forked River Firefighters Robert Anderson and Edward Barker, Jr., were recognized by the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, Pa, during their Awards of Valor Event. All four of these gentlemen attended the event in Philadelphia where they received the Team Award of Valor as a result of saving an elderly woman from a residential structure fire on the 1800 block of Serpentine Drive in Forked River, during the early morning hours of November 25, 2016. All four of these men will have their photographs, along with a description of the life-saving event, posted in a section of the museum. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – September 7th through September 14, 2017
Drug Arrest – On Thursday, September 14, 2017, at 10:14 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Laurel Plaza, located at 629 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 28-year-old Dakota Rowling of Lawrence Drive in Lanoka Harbor, for possession of CDS. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Dakota Rowling was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Failure to Observe a Traffic Signal, Improper Left Turn, Failure to Exhibit a Driver’s License, Failure to Inspect, Tinted Windows, and CDS in a Motor Vehicle. Drug Arrest- On Thursday, September 14, 2017, at 12:05 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the Forked River Fire Department parking lot, located at 121 Parker Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the vehicle’s driver, identified as 39-year-old Jason M. Denoia of Burrsville Road in Brick, NJ, for possession of drug paraphernalia. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release December 3rd thru December 9th, 2013 . . Harassment & Disorderly Conduct (Formal Charges) – On Saturday, December 7, 2013, 30-year-old Joseph A. Potenzone of 414 Drew Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, was charged with two counts of Disorderly Conduct and one count of Harassment in reference to two separate incidents that involved female victims. The first incident occurred on September 14, 2013, when 30-year-old Joseph Potenzone was reported to have been riding his bicycle and followed a 13-year-old juvenile female (who was also riding a bicycle) in the area of Ash Road Park in Lanoka Harbor. Joseph Potenzone reportedly followed the juvenile female almost a mile until she was able to separate from him at the Wawa Store on Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor. While he was following her he was allegedly making flirtatious comments and bumped her rear bicycle tire. The juvenile female contacted family members who responded to intervene. They were able to take a photograph of him which later led to his positive identification. For this incident, Joseph Potenzone was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Harassment. Crime Alert – UPDATE – Lacey Township Police Department – Wednesday, December 3, 2013 – Sunrise Blvd., Forked River
Burglary Investigation & Heroin Possession (Arrests) - On the morning of Tuesday, December 3, 2013, Lacey Township Police Department detectives executed a search warrant at 308 Sunrise Boulevard, Forked River, concluding a three week investigation. The warrant was sought to recover stolen property from a residential burglary that occurred at 304 Sunrise Boulevard on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. During the residential burglary committed on November 13, 2013, the actors stole items valued in excess of $3,000 and caused extensive damage to the heating and cooling system by cutting copper piping. Additionally, the electric meter was stolen from the exterior of the residence. During the warrant execution, detectives located numerous items stolen during the burglary in addition to 48 bags of heroin, drug paraphernalia, and hypodermic syringes. Also, the electric meter supplying the power connection to 308 Sunrise Boulevard, Forked River, was determined to be stolen from another residence and illegally installed on the 308 Sunrise Boulevard home. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release November 26th thru December 2nd, 2013 . . Theft – On Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 7:34 p.m., a homeowner from the 300 block of Sunrise Boulevard reported a theft. The homeowner reported that someone stole a JCP&L service meter from the side of his house between 10:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013 and 7:34 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2013. The residence is in the process of being remodeled. The homeowner was alerted by his alarm company that his newly installed alarm was only running on battery backup, and upon checking the residence, he discovered his power off and the meter missing. JCP&L indicated that the account is in good standing and they did not remove the meter. Arrests are pending in the case. Shoplifting (Arrests) - On Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at 1:55 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was patrolling the Wal-Mart parking lot when he was approached by an asset protection employee who advised him of three shoplifters that had just exited the store.
