Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. DUI Arrest - On Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 3:59 p.m., Officers Elton Copes and Adam Ewart responded to the area of Walnut Drive, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of an erratic driver. The driver, 51-year-old Alice Errickson, of Walnut Drive, Lanoka Harbor, was stopped and found to be operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed and released on four motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Refusal, Reckless Driving, and Expired Registration. The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. Down Wires (Injury) - On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at 6:31 p.m., Officer Adam Ewart was conducting traffic control for a road closure at the intersection of Route 9 North and Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River, for service repairs due to down wires. During the repairs, a JCP&L Lineman sustained electrical burns to his face. Local EMS responded to the scene and transported him to Southern Ocean Medical Center. Public Notice – Lacey Township Police Department – Oyster Creek Emergency Alert Siren Test – Today, December 5, 2017 at 12pm
*** Oyster Creek Emergency Alert Siren Test Scheduled for Today, December 5th, 2017 at 12pm *** Please be advised that the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station will be testing their emergency alert sirens, today, December 5, 2017, at 12 pm. The emergency sirens will sound simultaneously for three (3) minutes during the test. The emergency sirens are positioned within a 10-mile radius of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station. Residents should be aware that the intent of the emergency alert sirens is to advise people to immediately tune to the emergency broadcasting system for direction in an actual emergency. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department (Traffic Alert Notice) – Christmas Parade – Sunday December 3rd, 2017 at 3pm
Christmas Parade - On Sunday, December 3, 2017, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a section of Lacey Road will be closed to traffic. The Christmas Parade will begin at 3:00 p.m. from just west of the Forked River Elementary School, 110 Lacey Road, and continue west to the Lacey Township Municipal Building, 818 W. Lacey Road. This section of Lacey Road will be closed during the parade and vehicular traffic will need to use alternate routes. The western portion of Lacey Road will (for example to access the Garden State Parkway) be accessible through the Barnegat Pines section of the township (from the south) or via taking Manchester Avenue, to Adams Street, to Veterans Way to Municipal Lane (from the north). Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release March 11th, 2014 thru March 17th, 2014 . . DUI (Arrest) – On Monday, March 17, 2014, at 11:53 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop on Vaughn Avenue near Baldwin Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old James N. Sheppard of Baldwin Street in Forked River for DUI. James Sheppard was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Speeding, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. DUI with Accident (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 16, 2014, at 5:31 p.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas was dispatched to the Captain’s Inn, 304 E. Lacey Road in Forked River, for a hit and run traffic accident involving two parked vehicles that were struck. A description of the vehicle fleeing the scene was provided. The suspect vehicle and driver were located a short time later. The investigation led to the arrest of 53-year-old William D. Kurtz of Hemlock Drive in Forked River for DUI. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release March 5th, 2014 thru March 10th, 2014 . . Warrant and Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 9, 2014, at 8:09 p.m., Special Officer Travis Horton conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 36-year-old Scott M. Rosanio of Spray Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, on an outstanding Ocean Township (Waretown) traffic warrant in the amount of $250. Upon arrest, Scott Rosanio was found to be in possession of Cocaine. Scott Rosanio was transported to police headquarters, processed, charged, and released after posting full bail on the Ocean Township warrant. He was charged with Possession of CDS (Cocaine) and released pending a court date. Scott Rosanio received traffic summonses for Driving while Suspended, CDS in a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Exhibit Proof of Valid Insurance. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release February 25th, 2014 thru March 3rd, 2014 . . Drug Possession & Warrant (Arrest) – On Monday, March 3, 2014, at 1:24 a.m., Officer Michael Verwey stopped a vehicle in the Parking Lot of 7-11 located at 524 Lacey Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Drew Warthen of 2336 Odyssey Way in Toms River on a $275 Bloomfield Township Municipal Court Traffic warrant. Following the arrest on the warrant, Officer Verwey found Drew Warthen in possession of Marijuana. Drew Warthen was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with possession of Marijuana. Drew Warthen posted bail on the outstanding warrant and was released on a summons awaiting a court date. Mutual Consent Fighting (Formal Charges) – On Saturday, March 2, 2014, at 12:05 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to 1736 Lakeside Drive South in Forked River in reference to theft. Upon arrival, 48-year-old Leah Kern of 1332 Norwood Street in Forked River reported that she came to the Lakeside Drive South residence to confront the resident, 31-year-old Maureen Bart regarding the theft of a puppy.
