Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Officer Michael Verwey Nominated for DUI Award – December 14, 2017
The above picture depicts Officer Michael Verwey (right) after receiving his 2017 Nomination/Recognition, for being a top finalist in the 2017 Kimberly Smith Ames DWI Award. The award was presented by the Ocean County Police Traffic Safety Officers Association and the Smith family. Today, Officer Michael Verwey was honored for his efforts to get drunk drivers off the roads. He was recognized for being among the finalists for the 2017 Kimberly Smith Ames DWI Prevention Award, which was presented by the Ocean County Police Traffic Safety Officers Association and the Smith family. Officer Verwey is a 13-year veteran police officer. He was hired by the Lacey Township Police Department in 2013 and has been assigned to the patrol division where he makes DWI enforcement a top priority. Prior to Lacey Township, Officer Verwey served as a Police Officer for the Burlington City Police Department (two years), the Medford Township Police Department (seven years), and the Waterford Township Police Department (one year). Officer Verwey is a member for the Southern Ocean County SWAT Team and a member for the Ocean County Fatal Accident Support Team (FAST). Department News – The Ocean County Chiefs of Police Cancel Their Physical Fitness Exam Scheduled For This Weekend Due to Weather – December 8, 2017
Due to the anticipated bad weather, the Ocean County Chiefs of Police have cancelled their Physical Fitness Exam that was scheduled for this weekend (December 9th and 10th, 2017) at the Ocean County Police Academy in Lakewood, NJ. Weather Alert – Lacey Township Police Department – Winter Storm Watch/Warning – Tonight, December 8th through Tomorrow Night, December 9, 2017
*** The National Weather Service Has Issued The Below Winter Storm Watch/Warning *** "The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch/warning. The watch will remain in effect from late tonight (Friday, December 8, 2017) through late Saturday night (December 9, 2017). Heavy Snow is possible, plan on difficult travel conditions. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are possible in portions of southern New Jersey. The heaviest snow accumulations will occur between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Significant reductions in visibility are possible." Please remember to remove all parked vehicles from the roadways in Lacey Township as required by ordinance. Keeping the roadways clear during and after a snow fall is necessary so the Lacey Township Department of Public Works can effectively clear the snow from the streets. Vehicles left in the roadway may be ticketed and towed. Additionally, please make sure all portable basketball hoops, garbage cans, etc. are removed from the roadway. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release March 25th, 2014 thru March 31st, 2014 . . Robbery (Business) – On Monday, March 31, 2014, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Lacey Township Police Department responded to the Country Farms store, located at 336 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a robbery. The investigation revealed that a male subject entered the store and confronted the employee with a knife and demanded money. The employee did not provide the money and the suspect soon fled on foot toward Briggs Avenue North in Forked River. The suspect is described as being a white male, in his late teens to early twenties, approximately 5 foot 8, with a stocky build and dark hair. There were no reported injuries. Both the Ocean County Sheriff's Department K9 Unit and Criminalistics Investigation Unit responded to the scene to assist. As of the time of this release the investigation is on-going. Robbery Suspect – Lacey Township Police Department – Tuesday, April 1, 2014
Robbery - The Lacey Township Police Department is investigating a report of a robbery at the Country Farms store in the Eric Plaza (Lacey Road) which occurred on Monday, March 31, 2014, at approximately 5:15 p.m. The suspect reportedly produced a knife and demanded money. The suspect fled the store on foot after being denied the money. The photo depicts an image of the suspect while fleeing the store. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release March 18th, 2014 thru March 24th, 2014 . . Theft from a Motor Vehicle – On Monday, March 24, 2014, at 9:59 p.m., Officers Dimitri Tsarnas and Michael Verwey responded to the 1200 block of Ocean Street in Forked River for a theft from a parked car. The victim reported that she was contacted by her neighbor who observed a male subject go in her vehicle and remove property. The unknown male reportedly ran away with the property. The victim stated that after she was notified, she checked the vehicle and observed that several pieces of property were missing. The property consisted of but was not limited to a pink duffle bag, a digital camera, eyeglasses, and books with a total value of $310. The vehicle was left unlocked and was parked in the driveway of the residence at the time of the theft. The description of the suspect was provided as a male, approximately 6 feet tall with shoulder length dark hair wearing dark clothing.
