Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Weather Alert – Lacey Township Police Department/Office of Emergency Management – Blizzard Warning
*** Update - The National Weather Service Has Issued a Blizzard Warning For Our Area*** The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for our area. The warning will be in effect from this evening, January 3rd, 2018, at 9:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m on Thursday Evening, January 4th, 2018. Heavy snow is possible. Plan on difficult travel conditions, especially during the morning commute. Total snow accumulations of 6 t0 10 inches are possible (Southern and Central New Jersey). Strong winds (Gusts up to 50 mph) may result in considerable drifting of snow and reductions in visibility. Scattered power outages could develop Thursday and Friday. Please remember to remove all parked vehicles from the roadways in Lacey Township as required by ordinance. Keeping the roadways clear during and after a snow fall is necessary so the Lacey Township Department of Public Works can effectively clear the snow from the streets. Vehicles left in the roadway may be ticketed and towed. As always, residents that live in the low-lying areas within the township may park their vehicles in Gille Park near the hockey rink (102 Manchester Avenue). *** The National Weather Service Has Issued The Below Winter Storm Watch *** The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for our area. The watch will be in effect from Wednesday Evening, January 3rd, 2018, through Thursday Evening, January 4th, 2018. Heavy Snow is possible. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Thursday. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are possible (Southern and Central New Jersey). Strong winds may result in considerable drifting of snow. Significant reductions in visibility are also possible. Please remember to remove all parked vehicles from the roadways in Lacey Township as required by ordinance. Keeping the roadways clear during and after a snow fall is necessary so the Lacey Township Department of Public Works can effectively clear the snow from the streets. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – December 22nd, 2017 through December 28th, 2017
Burglary/Theft/Impersonation-On Wednesday, December 27, 2017, Patrolman Michael Hein took an initial report for a suspicious incident. During his investigation, a Bayville resident reported that she suspected that she was the victim of fraud. The victim reported that she answered a rental advertisement posted on Facebook and made arrangements to see the Forked River home. The victim further added that she and a representative of the property management company came to an agreement and completed a lease. The victim also gave the representative a $2,025 security deposit. Several days afterward when the victim did not receive the keys for the home, she reported the incident to the police. As the investigation continued, Patrolman Hein and Detective Kymberly Gudgeon were able to confirm that the advertisement was fraudulent and identified the suspect as a Little Egg Harbor resident. On Thursday, December 28, 2017, Lacey detectives arranged for the victim to meet with the suspect under the auspice that she would be supplying the first month’s rent. The suspect, Jennifer Alvarez, 39, was arrested when she arrived to collect the money. Alvarez was charged with burglary, theft by deception, and impersonation. Lacey Township Police Department – Life-Saving Incident involving 19-year-old Lanoka Harbor Resident – Monday, May 5, 2014
Life-Saving Use of Naloxone on 19-year-old Lanoka Harbor Resident - At approximately 6 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014, Lacey Township Police Officers Dimitri Tsarnas and Evan Androcy responded to a suspected Heroin overdose incident at a Lanoka Harbor residence involving a 19-year-old male who resides in Lanoka Harbor. Upon the arrival of the officers, they found the teen to be unresponsive with very shallow breathing. Officer Dimitri Tsarnas needed to utilize two separate Naloxone kits before the teen regained responsiveness. A volunteer crew from the Lanoka Harbor First Aid Squad arrived and administered oxygen with assisted breathing to allow the medication to have the desired effect. The Lanoka Harbor First Aid Squad transported the patient to the Community Medical Center for further treatment. The medication Naloxone is administered to overdose victims pursuant to the Overdose Prevention Act of 2013 (N.J.S.A. 24:6J-1 et seq.). The Overdose Prevention Act is the same law that prohibits law enforcement from arresting or charging the person who overdoses. Both the person who calls for medical assistance as well as the patient are protected from arrest, charge, prosecution, or conviction for the possession or use of the drugs. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release April 21st, 2014 thru April 28th, 2014 . . Shoplifting (Arrest) - On Tuesday April 22, 2014, at 6:45 p.m., Officer Ewart responded to Walmart in reference to shoplifting. A loss prevention employee reported observing a female shopper place a sheet set and a large comforter set into her cart and then return them at the customer service desk where she received a monetary benefit for the returned items. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 45-year-old Dawn Lagnese of 25 Staysail Court in Bayville. Dawn Lagnese was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed, charged with shoplifting, and released on a criminal summons. Life-Saving Use of Naloxone – At approximately 10:54 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, Lacey Township Police Sergeant Paul J. Sullivan responded to a Heroin overdose incident at a Forked River residence. Upon his arrival, he found a 30-year-old female unresponsive with very shallow breathing and a faint pulse. Sgt. Sullivan administered the Naloxone spray. The victim subsequently became responsive and alert within a minute of being administered the medication. UPDATED (4/29/14) Crime Alert – ATM Card Fraud – Lacey Township Police Department – Monday, April 28, 2014
UPDATE: Debit Card Fraud Alert - In addition to the six ATM bank card frauds reported early Monday, April 28, 2014, the Lacey Township Police Department received more than 20 additional reports (as of 12:00 Noon) Tuesday, April 29, 2014, from Lacey Township residents regarding fraudulent activity on their debit card accounts. Residents have reported that their Bank of America ATM cards have been fraudulently used at locations in North New Jersey within the past several days. The victims in each reported incident currently have physical possession of their debit cards, yet funds are being withdrawn from their bank accounts at ATM locations in North Jersey. PIN numbers are apparently being used to access the money through ATMs. Each incident is currently under investigation by the Lacey Township Police Department. It is strongly suggested that residents change their PIN numbers on their debit card accounts regardless of which local bank they utilize. Early indications are that unknown subjects may have set up a system over the prior weeks to capture debit card information and PIN numbers at one or more ATM locations in town. Residents are asked to check their bank accounts to ensure there has been no fraudulent activity.
