Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Weather Alert – Lacey Township Police Department – Major Coastal Storm Late Thursday into Saturday – Tonight, Thursday, March 1, 2018 through Saturday, March 3, 2018 *** The National Weather Service has issued the below Major Coastal Storm Warning *** “The National Weather Service has issued a major coastal storm warning. A major nor’easter will affect the region tonight through Saturday. Precipitation will be moving into the area from the southwest late today, falling heavy at times through Friday. Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are expected. Winds will become northwest and increase rapidly Friday morning with speeds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts 50 to 60 mph through Friday evening, before diminishing Friday night and Saturday. Downed trees and power lines are expected, especially given the saturated ground. Minor to locally moderate coastal flooding is expected on the New Jersey coast during high tide Friday, with moderate to locally major flooding possible on the NJ/DE Atlantic coast and the coast of the Delaware Bay Saturday.” Lacey Township residents living in the low-lying affected areas may voluntarily park their vehicles in Gille Park, located at 102 Manchester Avenue in Forked River. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – February 16, 2018 through February 22, 2018
CDS Arrest- On Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 6:40 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the WaWa, 800 Lacey Road, Forked River, to investigate an aggressive drive complaint. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 36 year old Ali Gunaydin, of C. Farrington, Lakewood, NJ for possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ali Gunaydin was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal warrant with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for CDS in a motor vehicle. Ali Gunaydin was later transported to Ocean County Jail. Fraud/Identity Theft – On Monday, February 19, 2018, at 11:11 a.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters to take a report of identity theft. The victim stated he went to Liberty Tax and had his taxes prepared. Two days later, he received a call from his tax preparer advising him that the IRS rejected his Federal Tax Return because his name and social security number had already been used to E-file a tax return. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Red Night Out – Knock Out Substance Abuse – Friday, March 9, 2018
The Lacey Township Task Force presents the 2018 Red Night Out event, Knock Out Substance Abuse, on Friday, March 9, 2018. The event will take place at the Lacey Township High School, located at 73 Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor. Pizza and beverages will be provided from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. During this time, members of the Lacey Township Police Department will be presenting a display and will be available to answer questions. The main program begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature MMA Champion Frankie Edgar, Jiu Jitsu No-Gi World Champion Tom DeBlass, and former NFL Player Keith Elias. Additional presentations will include, but not be limited to, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato and John Brogan from Lifeline Recovery Support Services. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release July 15th, 2014 thru July 21st, 2014 . . Theft & Forgery (Arrest) - On Tuesday, July 15, 2014, Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas met with a resident who reported that she was the victim of a theft of checks from her residence. The checks were later cashed at her bank without her authorization. The victim stated she had hired 22-year-old Christopher Boardingham of N Lakeside Drive in Forked River to perform odd jobs around her house. She indicated that she suspected that he stole the checks and then made the checks out to himself by forging her name on the checks before cashing them. Officer Dimitri Tsarnas investigated the matter and signed criminal complaints against Christopher Boardingham for theft by deception and forgery. Boardingham was subsequently arrested, processed, and released on the criminal summonses pending a court date. Burglary & Theft (Arrest) – On Tuesday, July 15, 2014 Officer Evan Androcy responded to the 400 block of Lake Barnegat Drive South in reference to a report of a burglary and theft. The victim reported that 20-year-old Erik Moore of 417 Lake Barnegat Drive South entered his house and stole electronic equipment valued at $620. Officer Androcy with the assistance of [...]

Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release July 8th, 2014 thru July 14th, 2014 . . Resisting Arrest and Criminal Mischief (Arrest) – On Monday, July 14, 2014, at 8:49 p.m., Officers Tsarnas and Resetar responded to Ocean Fields Residential, 1 Game Farm Road in Forked River, for a 17-year-old male juvenile inmate. The Ocean Fields staff provided a description of the juvenile and reported that he was last seen heading north toward Shop Rite. A few minutes later, Officer Resetar observed a juvenile male fitting the description walking in the parking lot of Kohl’s located at 304 Route 9, in Forked River. Upon making contact with the 17-year-old juvenile, the male provided a false name and then ran from the officer. Officer Resetar ordered him to stop, however, the male continued to run north in the parking lot. Officer Resetar pursued and apprehended him the male who then physically resisted arrest. During the incident, the male purposely caused damage to the police vehicle. The male was restrained and positively identified as the subject who fled from the detention facility. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release July 1st, 2014 thru July 8th, 2014 . . Eluding, Resisting Arrest, and Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer (Arrest) – On Tuesday, July8, 2014, Detective Brian Flynn charged 22-year-old Eugene J. Fisher Jr. of 601 East Arverne Avenue in Ocean Gate with multiple criminal offenses related to the June 18, 2014, incident involving a stolen Jeep Cherokee out of Waretown, NJ. The June 18th incident involved the driver jumping from the stolen vehicle, fleeing on foot, resisting arrest upon being apprehended by Officer Ewart, then fleeing again after the officer was injured wrestling with the fleeing suspect in a backyard of a residence during the overnight hours (Click for the posting regarding the Original Incident). Eugene J. Fisher was charged with the 2nd degree crime of Eluding, 3rd Degree Resisting Arrest, 3rd degree Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, and 4th Degree Criminal Mischief. A criminal warrant was issued with bail set at $75,000. Eugene J. Fisher Jr. was served with the charges at the Ocean County Correctional Facility where he is currently lodged on unrelated charges.
