Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – March 23, 2018 through March 29, 2018
Theft – On Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 11:01 a.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella responded to Burger King, 346 Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of theft of currency. The manager reported approximately $400 in cash was taken from the restaurant’s safe. This incident remains under investigation. Illegal Dumping – On Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at 1:25p.m., Officer John McKee responded to the area known as the Trestle, off of Cedar Avenue, in Lanoka Harbor for a report of illegal dumping. Approximately 11 bags of garbage and a refrigerator were found in the area. The Lacey Township Department of Public Works was notified and responded to the site. Warrant Arrest – On Monday, March 26, 2018, at 3:27 p.m., Officers Michael Hutman and Michael Verwey were on patrol when they stopped a vehicle for speeding on Spruce Street in Forked River. The driver of the vehicle, 44-year-old Matthew C. Foulks of Spruce Street in Forked River was found to have two outstanding warrants, one out of Mount Laurel Municipal Court in the amount of $300 and a no bail warrant out of Pemperton Township Municipal Court. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Gille Park Skate Park Evening Events Return – April 6th, 2018
*** Gille Park Skate Park Evening Events Making a Return April 6, 2018 *** In the fall of 2016, the Lacey Township Police Department partnered with the Lacey Township Recreation Department, the Lacey Municipal Alliance, and the Lacey Municipal Police Foundation, to open the Gille Park Skate Park, for Lacey Township residents, every other Friday evening in both the Spring and Fall. The events started in August 2016, and continued through last year. I am very happy to announce that the Gille Park Skate Park Evening Events, also known as "Friday Night Lights" are making a return, beginning Friday, April 6th, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. The skate park will be open from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 pm, with a live DJ playing music beginning at 7:00 p.m. Lighting will be provided by the Lacey Township Police Department with assistance from our local Fire Departments. In addition, the Lacey Township Police Department, the Lacey Township EMS and Lanoka Harbor EMS will be on scene. The April 6th event will also include a mobile gaming trailer provided by "Party Crashers" from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Age appropriate games will be available for the kids. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Distracted Driving Enforcement and Education Campaign – UDrive, UText, UPay – Begins April 1st, 2018
Distracted Driving Enforcement and Education Campaign, UDrive UText UPay. (Lacey Township) -- Law enforcement officers from the Lacey Township Police Department will be cracking down on distracted drivers during April as part of New Jersey’s UDrive UText UPay enforcement campaign. Beginning April 1st, 2018 and continuing through April 21st, 2018, the high visibility law enforcement initiative will target motorists who engage in dangerous distracted driving behaviors such as talking on hand-held cell phones and sending text messages while driving. “Distracted driving is possibly the most serious issue on our roadways today,” said Gary Poedubicky, Acting Director of the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that in 2015 alone, 3,477 people were killed in distracted driving crashes and an estimated 391,000 people were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving a distracted driver.” In New Jersey, driver inattention was listed as a contributing circumstance in 52 percent of the state's crashes in 2015. Press Release (Vehicular Homicide Arrest) – Lacey Township Police Department – Saturday, October 25, 2014
Vehicular Homicide (Arrest) - On Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 6:02 a.m., Officers George Resetar and Michael Eden responded to Route 539, mile marker 16, for a two-car head-on motor vehicle accident. The accident was determined to be a fatal crash. The Lacey Township Police Department’s Fatal Accident Support Team, along with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Criminalistics Investigation Unit (CIU) responded. The deceased was identified as 54-year-old Suzanne Kessler of Whiting, New Jersey. Suzanne Kessler was traveling in the southbound lane of Route 539 when her Chevy Cavalier was struck by a Cadillac Deville being operated by 27-year-old Kenneth M. Busardo of 12 Nantucket Avenue in Barnegat, NJ. Kenneth M. Busardo was traveling northbound on Route 539 when his car travelled into the soundbound lane striking Suzanne Kessler’s vehicle. Kenneth M. Busardo received minor injuries in the crash and refused medical treatment. Kenneth M. Busardo was transported to Southern Ocean County Hospital by investigating officers to have his blood drawn for analysis as part of the investigation into the cause of the fatal accident. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release October 14th, 2014 thru October 21st, 2014 . . Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Arrests) – On late Friday night, October 17, 2014, into the early morning hours of Saturday, October 18, 2014, the Lacey Township Police Department initiated a thorough investigation into a report of a party involving at least eight youth between the ages of 13 to 14 engaging in the heavy consumption of hard alcohol while also smoking Marijuana at 611 Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. The report came from a concerned parent who reportedly found her daughter highly intoxicated at the residence. The young girl was brought by the mother to police headquarters at 12:23 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014, where Lacey EMS responded and transported the girl to Community Medical Center for immediate medical attention. Officer Michael Verwey, Officer George Resetar, and Sergeant Ronald Buxton responded to 611 Clairmore Avenue to further investigate the concern. Upon arrival at the residence, officers found numerous 13 and 14 year old youths who were visibly intoxicated and showing signs of impairment due to alcohol and Marijuana. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release October 7th, thru October 13th, 2014 . . Shoplifting – On Sunday, October 12, 2014, at 4:42 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the Nutri-Shop, located at 410 Route 9 south, in reference to a theft. The employee reported that at about 3:55 p.m. a female teenager stole a bottle of NGN Bee Pollen valued at $50. The suspect was also accompanied by another female teen and a male teen. The female suspect is described as a white female with red hair, between 5-03” and 5-06”, in her mid-teens, wearing blue jeans and a blue long sleeve shirt. Footage from the store security cameras was retained in an effort to identify the suspect and the accomplices. Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, October 12, 2014, at 8:07 a.m., Officer Anderson responded to the Gille Park Concession stand in reference to criminal mischief to the building. The gutters of the building were damaged as a result of someone attempting to get onto the roof of the building. The damage is estimated at $200.
