Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Officers and EMS Recognized for Live Saving Measures – September 16, 2021
The above photo depicts (left to right) Officer Alan Abrecht, Robert Fischer, and Officer Michael Hutman. On May 8, 2021, Officers Alan Abrecht and Michael Hutman responded to a Forked River residence, located in the Pheasant Run section of Lacey Township for a report of CPR in progress. Upon arrival, officers located Robert Fischer, lying on the sidewalk in front of his home, surrounded by neighbors rendering aid to him. Officers immediately determined that Robert did not have a pulse, and began lifesaving measures, including CPR chest compressions and the use of Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). While the officers were performing the lifesaving measures, Robert began to exhibit agonal breathing and regained a pulse. Lacey Township EMS arrived on scene and confirmed that a pulse was detected. Lacey Township EMS, along with Robert Wood Johnson (RWJ) Paramedics continued lifesaving measures. Robert began breathing on his own, and was transported to Community Medical Center (CMC). Ultimately, Robert made a full recovery, and returned home at a later date. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Crossing Guard Positions Available – September 16, 2021
Crossing Guard Applications - The Lacey Township Police Department is accepting applications for crossing guard positions to fill recent vacancies. Applications may be obtained in the lobby of police headquarters. The position involves up to 25 hours per week during the school year at a starting rate of $12.00 per hour. The work hours are split (6:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.) during each day that school is in session General Responsibilities • Escort children across designated crossing zones. • Stop vehicular and pedestrian traffic in an efficient and orderly manner. • Work in various weather conditions. • Communicate effectively with children, parents and the general public. • Report unsafe traffic conditions in school crossing zones, report suspicious vehicles or persons hanging around school areas. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – P/T Class 3 Special Law Enforcement Officer Positions Available – Sept 16, 2021
The Lacey Township Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of P/T Class III Special Law Enforcement Officers. Under the supervision of the Chief of Police, the individual will work as a uniformed law enforcement officer with responsibilities including, but not limited to, providing security and safety in their assigned schools in the Township of Lacey. The starting hourly rate is $25. In order to be eligible, the candidate must: The applicant must be a retired law enforcement officer less than 65 years of age, who served as a duly qualified, fully-trained, full-time officer in any municipality or county of this State or as a member of the New Jersey State Police and was separated from that prior service in good standing, within three years of appointment to this position (must have a letter of good standing issued by the agency from which the officer retired, listing the date and type of retirement). Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – April 21 through April 28, 2022
Motor Vehicle Crash/DWI- On Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 8:33 p.m., multiple officers, including Officers Copes, responded to Route 9 South and Taylor Lane for a report of a crash. Investigation at the scene reveled one of the drivers, Shirley R. Dilauri, 52, of Nutley, NJ, was suspected of being under the influence. Shirley was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. At the conclusion of processing, Shirley was released after being served with multiple traffic summonses including DWI. Theft/Criminal Mischief- On Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10:24 a.m., Officer Slota responded to headquarters for a theft report. Upon arrival, Office Slota met with the victim who stated they had two flags taken from their front yard. The unknown actor had also damaged a PVC pipe to remove the flags. The total value of the flags is $22.00. DWI- On Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 9:28 p.m., Officer Watkins responded the temporary traffic signal on West Lacey Road, for a report of a vehicle that was stopped at the traffic signal for approximately 45 minutes. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – April 14 through April 21, 2022
Warrant Arrest- On Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 8:52 p.m., Officer Hyle responded to police headquarters for a report of a male subject who had an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant and wished to turn himself in. Officer Hyle met with Carmelo Perez Jr (49), of Atlantic City, and confirmed the warrant. Carmelo was placed under arrest and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident. Motor Vehicle Stop/Warrant- On April 15, 2022, at 4:39 p.m., Officer Hutman conducted a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Lacey Road and Hoffman Road for careless driving. The driver, Joseph Calafiore (23), was found to have an outstanding “no bail” warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Joseph was placed under arrest and transported to Ocean County Correctional Facility. Joseph was also issued summonses for careless driving and driving while suspended. Motor Vehicle Crash/DWI- On Sunday, April 17, 2022, at 1:55 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Route 9 North and South Street, for motor vehicle crash. Disorderly Conduct- On Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 9:53 a.m., Officers Matthew D’Antonio and Jason Lee responded to the Lacey Mall after a caller reported that a male suspect was shooting a bb gun from a vehicle. Although the suspect was not present upon arrival of officers, they were able to identify the actor as Ryedan Ashworth, 18. Officers also confirmed that Ashworth was shooting a water bead gun rather than a bb gun. Ashworth was issued a complaint for Disorderly Conduct. Disorderly Conduct- On Sunday, April 10, 2022, at 1:28 a.m., several officers responded to a Windsor Street address and interacted with an adult female. During the interaction, Jamie Rawlins, 39, screamed at officers ultimately causing public inconvenience. She was issued a summons for Disorderly Conduct. DWI- On Sunday, April 10, 2022, at 2:19 a.m., Officer Michael Hyle was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Bay Way near Route 9. The caller reported that a passing Chevy Cobalt left the traveled portion of the roadway striking two of his parked vehicles.
