Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. *** Illegal Trespassing - Off Road Enforcement Details Begin Tomorrow, July 7, 2018 *** Illegal Trespassing - Off-Road Enforcement Details - Beginning tomorrow, July 7, 2018, the Lacey Township Police Department will be coordinating off-road enforcement details, working with various law enforcement agencies, including, but not limited to the New Jersey State Police, Ocean County Sheriff's Department, New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife Bureau of Law Enforcement, Ocean Township Police Department (Waretown) and the Barnegat Township Police Department. The purpose of these details is to reduce/prevent the influx of persons in off-road vehicles (ATVs, dirt-bikes, etc.) trespassing on private property and protected conservation lands in the wooded areas west of the Garden State Parkway in Lacey Township, Ocean Township, and Barnegat Township, and to reduce serious injuries from crashes (motor vehicle, ATV, etc) and offenses that have been occurring over the last few years. The wooded area of concern covers over 60 square-miles. In recent years, a main entry point has been immediately off the Garden State Parkway in Lacey Township, so the New Jersey State Police have once again been requested for assistance. *** National Night Out, Tuesday, August 7th, 2018, at Gille Park, 6pm to 11pm *** I am happy to announce that the Lacey Township Police Department will be presenting our 2nd Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 7th, 2018. The event will take place on the south side of Gille Park, 56 Manchester Avenue, Forked River, 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The purpose of this event is to strengthen law enforcement and community partnerships, and promote drug and DUI prevention and education. This event will offer a variety of entertainment for all ages to enjoy. The Lacey Township Police Department, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and the New Jersey State Police will be on site. Each agency will present different pieces of law enforcement equipment and apparatus. The Lacey Township Police Department will have patrol vehicles on scene and will be available for photographs with visitors. Have your son or daughter take a picture with one of our officers in their favorite police car. Weekly Police Blotter July 8th thru July 14th, 2015 . Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday, July 13, 2015, at 10:50 p.m., Officers Dimitri Tsarnas and Adam Ewart responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for two adult female shoplifters. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Kiana Bass of Mermaid Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $99. In addition, 22-year-old Nicole A. Cholish of Mermaid Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $116. They were both transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged with Shoplifting. Criminal Mischief – On Monday, July 13, 2015, at 5:44 p.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas responded to the east side of Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015, an unknown person or persons shattered the back window on his vehicle that was parked in front of the residence. Weekly Police Blotter July 1st thru July 7th, 2015 . Motor Vehicle Accident (Fatal) - Sergeant Robert Flynn, Officer Jeffrey Slota, and Officer Jason Lee responded to Route 539 for a report of a fatal motor vehicle accident involving an additional victim with a significant head injury. Barnegat Township Police Department officers and emergency service personnel were on scene prior to the arrival of Lacey Township personnel. Preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by 76-year-old Joseph Matthews of Robbinsville crossed the center line and was struck head on by a Borough of Surf City garbage truck operated by 28-year-old Brian Miller of Manahawkin. According to witnesses, an unknown aggressive driver was attempting to pass several vehicles, including the victim, and may be responsible for the resultant crash. The unknown vehicle fled the scene. Nancy Matthews, the wife of Joseph Matthews, was flown to Jersey Shore Trauma Center with head injuries. Officer Michael Verwey and Officer Adam Ewart of the Lacey Township Police Department Accident Response Team responded to the scene to work with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the Ocean County Criminal Investigation Unit in the follow-up investigation. Weekly Police Blotter June 23rd thru June 30th, 2015 . DUI (Arrest) - At 7:36 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, Officer Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 near Lacey Road for speeding. The driver, 47-year-old William P. Snyder of Cable Avenue in Beachwood was arrested for DUI. William P. Snyder was transported to police headquarters, processed, and issued motor vehicle summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Speeding, and Reckless Driving. The vehicle being operated by William P. Snyder was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. Warrant Arrest – On Monday, June 29, 2015, at 1:48 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop of a driver, identified as 34-year-old Amanda Malinowksi of Brentwood Place in Forked River, NJ, for outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lumberton Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750 and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Mount Laurel Township Municipal Court in the amount of $300. Amanda Malinowski was arrested, transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, and processed. Amanda Malinowski was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.
