Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Criminal Mischief Auto – On Monday, August 6, 2018, at 1:07 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 700 block of Spruce Road in Lanoka Harbor for a criminal mischief complaint. The caller reported that his vehicle, which was parked in the street in front of his residence, was vandalized. The passenger-side taillight was broken with no other observable damage to the bumper. The owner believes the taillight was intentionally broken. The estimated damage is $400. Warrant Arrest – On Monday, August 6, 2018, at 12:27 p.m., Officers Michael Hutman, responded to the 200 block of Chestnut Lane in Forked River after being advised that 51-year-old Douglas L. Heege of Aldrich Road, Jackson, NJ, was present at the residence. Douglas Heege was arrested on three outstanding warrants from Brick Township Municipal Court, Ocean County Superior Court, and Freehold Township Municipal Court. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and taken to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – National Night Out – Tonight, August 7th, 2018 – Gille Park – 6pm to 11pm
*** National Night Out, Tonight, August 7th, 2018, at Gille Park, 6pm to 11pm *** Parking: *** Parking at Gille Park is limited. Please use the Lacey Township High School and the Lacey Township Middle School. Shuttle buses will be available from those locations to Gille Park. Guests who decide to walk from those locations are encouraged to use the walkway at Kennis Walk, which connects the Lacey Township Middle School to Gille Park. Officers will be at that intersection (Manchester Avenue/Kennis Walk) to assist in crossing. Handicap parking is limited and is on a first come first serve basis. Handicap parking is available in the parking area near the lower soccer field in Gille Park. Please enter the park via the rear access road (Robert Kennedy Blvd) off Veterans Way. *** National Night Out, Tomorrow (Tuesday), August 7th, 2018, at Gille Park, 6pm to 11pm *** I am happy to announce that the Lacey Township Police Department will be presenting our 2nd Annual National Night Out, Tomorrow evening, August 7th, 2018. The event will take place on the south side of Gille Park, 56 Manchester Avenue, Forked River, 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The purpose of this event is to strengthen law enforcement and community partnerships, and promote drug and DUI prevention and education. This event will offer a variety of entertainment for all ages to enjoy. The Lacey Township Police Department, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and the New Jersey State Police will be on site. Each agency will present different pieces of law enforcement equipment and apparatus. The Lacey Township Police Department will have patrol vehicles on scene and will be available for photographs with visitors. Have your son or daughter take a picture with one of our officers in their favorite police car. In addition, the Lacey Township Police Department will coordinate a bicycle rodeo for young adults, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department will provide a K-9 demonstration, a drone demonstration, and conduct Child ID. Weekly Police Blotter October 6th thru October 12th, 2015 . DUI with Accident (Arrest) – On Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 9:20 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas and Officer Charles May responded to the 800 block of Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River for a report of a vehicle that struck and damaged a utility pole. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 48-year-old Joseph Y. Devlin of Forepeak Drive in Forked River, for DUI. Joseph Devlin was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and issued traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The road had to be closed for several hours while the utility pole was replaced and the wires were removed from the roadway. Power to the area was also out for several hours. No injuries were reported. The vehicle Joseph Devin was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. Weekly Police Blotter September 30th thru October 5th, 2015 . DUI and Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Friday, October 2, 2015, at 8:11 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel in the area of Route 9 and Beach Boulevard. Officer Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on the 400 block of Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 58-year-old Peter Docherty of Starboard Street in Forked River for DUI. In addition, he was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Peter Docherty was transported to police headquarters, processes, and charged with Possession of CDS (Oxycodone). Peter Docherty was charged on traffic summonses with DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Unlicensed Driver. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. Weekly Police Blotter September 23rd thru September 29th, 2015 . Obstructing the Administration of Law and Resisting (Arrest) – On Monday, September 28, 2015, at 9:29 p.m., Officer John McKee conducted a traffic stop in a driveway located on the 400 block of Lake Barnegat Drive North in Lanoka Harbor. The driver, identified as 18-year-old Louis Dautorio 4th of Center Street in Forked River, immediately exited the vehicle in an attempt to confront Officer McKee. After refusing to get back into his vehicle and refusing to provide his driving credentials, Officer McKee advised him he was under arrest for obstructing the administration of law. During the arrest process, Louis Dautorio, 4th physically resisted being handcuffed by Officer McKee. As Officer McKee was forced to struggle with the non-compliant suspect, 19-year-old Marcus Gervasini of Leanne Court in Forked River exacerbated the situation by getting extremely close to Officer McKee and holding a cell phone camera in the officer’s face while the officer was actively attempting to arrest and handcuff the physically resisting suspect.
