Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Township News – O.C. Health Department – Lacey Township Flu Inoculation – Saint Pius Church – October 4, 2018 – 10am to 12pm
The Annual Lacey Township Flu Inoculation will take place at Saint Pius Church, located at 300 Lacey Road in Forked River, on Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 10am to 12pm. The Ocean County Health Department will provide flu and Pneumonia vaccinations. Influenza and Pneumonia vaccinations are free if enrolled in Medicare Part B. If not enrolled in Medicare Part B, or you have a Medicare Managed Care Plan, the cost will be $20.00 (cash of check). Residents may bring their unwanted medication to the flu inoculation and simply drop the medication into the clearly marked Dropbox without any other steps necessary. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – August 31, 2018 through September 6, 2018
Drug Paraphernalia Arrest- On Thursday, September 6, 2018, at 8:50 a.m., Officer Michael Hutman responded to the parking lot of Walmart, 580 Route 9, Lanoka Harbor, for a suspicious vehicle. The investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 30-year old Jessie Monaghan, Kingfischer Way, Manchester, or possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released on a criminal summons, charging him with possession of drug paraphernalia. Structure Fire – On Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at 8:54 a.m., the Lacey Township Police Department received a call for service for heavy smoke coming from the roof of Caffrey’s Tavern located on Route 9 South, Forked River. Arriving officers confirmed that there was no one inside the building. Forked River, Lanoka Harbor, and Bamber Lake Fire Companies responded on the initial alarm. The Forked River Fire Chief called for a second alarm activating several fire companies throughout Ocean County. Lacey EMS and Lanoka Harbor First Aid responded along with a firefighter rehabilitation unit from Staffford Township. Weekly Police Blotter December 16th thru December 21st, 2015 . DUI (Arrest) – On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at 6:49 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to JR’s Liquors, 1000 Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ, for a report of a male passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 38-year-old Brian J. Nelson of Baywood Drive in Toms River, NJ for DUI. Brian Nelson was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Refusal to Submit Breath Samples. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 5:44 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to JR’s Liquors, 1000 Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ, for a report of an aggressive driver who had pulled into the parking lot and was passing out behind the wheel. Weekly Police Blotter December 9th thru December 15th, 2015 . Eluding (Arrest) – On Friday, December 11, 2015, at 3:06 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the area of Station Drive near Davis Avenue in the Forked River Pines section of the township for a report of an all-terrain vehicle that was driving down the roadway at a high rate of speed. While responding to the area, Officer Jason Lee observed the vehicle traveling west on Lakeside Drive South near Olds Street. Officer Lee activated the lights of his emergency vehicle and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on Lakeside Drive South. As Officer Jason Lee exited his patrol vehicle, the suspect fled the scene traveling down Lakeside Drive South at a high rate of speed. Officer Jason Lee followed the suspect vehicle but stopped a short distance later when he determined that the driver had no intent to stop for the police vehicle with emergency lights and sirens activated. Officer Jason Lee stopped the pursuit so as to reduce the potential risk to the public that was being caused by the reckless driving of the suspect. Weekly Police Blotter December 2nd thru December 8th, 2015 . Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at 12:03 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop on Falkenburg Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 28-year-old Thaddeus J. Adamczyk, 3rd, of Falkenburg Avenue in Forked River on an outstanding Stafford Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $539. Thaddeus Adamczyk, 3rd was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail. In addition, he received a traffic summons for Driving with a Suspended License. Unlawful Possession of a Syringe (Arrest) – On Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 9:30 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey was patrolling the parking lot of the Wawa located at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River when he observed a suspicious vehicle with a door left opened. Upon further inspection, Officer Verwey observed that a male subject was lying within the vehicle. A syringe was observed and seized by the officer. Further investigation led to the arrest of 33-year-old Jeffrey A. Smith of Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River for Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe.
