Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Press Release – Hit and Run, Information Requested
On the morning of Sunday, October 21, 2018, at approximately 01:10 hours Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the 400 Block of Lake Barnegat Drive North in Forked River, for a report of a pedestrian struck. Upon arrival he met with the victims a 26 year old male and a 23 year old female, both Township residents. They reported being struck by a small white SUV that fled the scene. Due to the nature of the injuries the male was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by MONOC Helicopter with leg, back and neck injuries. The female was transported by ground, to RWJ Barnabas, Community Medical Center in Toms River with abdominal pains. The Lacey Township Police Department is requesting assistance from the community. Township News – Lacey Police/Lacey Recreation – Gille Park Skate Park Evening Event – Tonight, October 19, 2018
*** Next Gille Park Skate Park Evening Event, Tonight, October 19, 2018 *** The next Gille Park Skate Park Evening Event, also known as "Friday Night Lights" will be held this evening, October 19th, 2018, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The skate park will be open from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 pm, with a live DJ playing music beginning at 7:00 p.m. Lighting will be provided by the Lacey Township Police Department with assistance from our local Fire Departments. In addition, the Lacey Township Police Department, the Lacey Township EMS and Lanoka Harbor EMS will be on scene. The event will also include a mobile gaming trailer provided by "Party Crashers" from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Age appropriate games will be available for the kids. The "Party Crashers" mobile gaming trailer has participated in prior Gille Park Skate Park Evening Events, prior Lacey Day Events, as well as numerous other events throughout Ocean County. The mobile gaming trailer is being sponsored by the Lacey Municipal Police Foundation and the Lacey Municipal Alliance. The skate park is specifically for the use of skateboards, scooters, and in-line skates. Bicycles are not permitted. Car Burglary – On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 6:19 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 700 block of Amherst Road in Lanoka Harbor for a vehicle burglary. The victim’s vehicle was locked and parked in her driveway. Sometime between 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday and 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, an unknown person(s) smashed the passenger side widow and stole items from within. The cost to repair the window is estimated at $500. The value of the stolen property is over $100. Car Burglary – On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 5:50 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 600 block of Colgate Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for a vehicle burglary. The victim reported that between the hours of 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 5:50 a.m. on Wednesday, and unknown person(s) smashed the front passenger side window and the rear passenger side window and stole items from within. The vehicle was locked and parked in the driveway of his residence. The damage to the vehicle is estimated at $1000. The estimated value of the stolen property is over $600. Weekly Police Blotter March 3rd thru March 8th, 2016 . . DUI and Drug Possession (Arrest) - On Friday, March 4, 2016, at 12:08 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick and Officer Martin Julian responded to the parking lot of Accredited Dermatology, 540 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a parked car. Upon arrival, the driver of the vehicle was semi-responsive and drug paraphernalia was observed inside the vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 25-year-old Landon S. Ruutikainen of Abbey Court in Forked River, for DUI, Possession of CDS, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Landon Ruutikainen was transported to police headquarters and processed. He received traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. In addition, he received criminal summonses for Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. Weekly Police Blotter February 24th thru March 2nd, 2016 . . Distribution of Heroin (Arrests) - On Friday, February 26, 2016, at 2:31 a.m., this agency received a call from the Wawa, Route 9 South & Taylor Lane in Forked River, reporting a drug transaction in the women’s bathroom. A description was provided of two suspects who walked south on Route 9 after the transaction and two others who drove away in a vehicle. The vehicle was located by Officer Scott Keefe who conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 near Lakeside Drive South while Officer Christopher Meyler located the two subjects who were walking south along Route 9. At the scene of the motor vehicle stop, the driver was identified as 31-year-old Deirdre Davis of 15 Harborage Avenue in Bayville, NJ. The rear male passenger was identified as 31-year-old Kevin Mack of Boston Way Village in Asbury Park, NJ. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of both Deirdre Davis and Kevin Mack. A search at the scene revealed a pill bottle containing approximately 40 Oxycodone pills without a prescription and a pill bottle with approximately 23 Xanax bars without prescription. Weekly Police Blotter February 16th thru 23rd, 2016 . . Shoplifting – On Friday, February 19, 2016, at 5:37 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, in reference to a report of shoplifting. The loss prevention employee reported that he observed a male subject attempting to exit the store with a shopping cart full of merchandise for which payment had not been made. Upon being confronted, the suspect reportedly left the shopping cart of merchandise and fled the area on foot. The shoplifted merchandise consisted of $488.06 of Lego’s and a $4.47 quart of oil. Upon further investigation, the shoplifter was identified as 31-year-old Douglas M. Gifford Jr. of Flint Road in Toms River, NJ. A $1,500 warrant was issued for his arrest. Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 9:45 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas stopped a vehicle on Route 9 North near Game Farm Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 31-year-old Douglas M. Gifford Jr. of Flint Road in Toms River, NJ on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1,500.
