Special Event – On Saturday (tomorrow), May 21, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lacey Middle School, Lacey PBA Local #238 and the Lacey Municipal Police Foundation will be hosting a completely free special event for Lacey Township residents. The event will include, while supplies last, food (hot dogs, hamburgers, etc.), snow cones, cotton-candy , music (D.J.), games, and giveaways (t-shirts, bicycle helmets, water bottles, frisbees, etc.). Activities include face-painting, boardwalk-style games, a huge inflatable slide, and more. Families are encouraged to bring their children to meet the officers and staff of the Lacey Township Police Department. It is an open, indoor event, so families can stop by the Middle School at any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to participate. This event is indoors, so inclement weather is not a concern. This “Meet the Officer Day” event is part of the ongoing COPs Collectible Card Program which is currently in Week #7. Officers will have their cards to sign for children and the PBA Card (Card #60) will be available for the first time. Participating students will be able to have their collection confirmed and turn in their completed and verified forms. The completed and verified checklist forms will render the student eligible for the grand prize drawings which will be conducted at the prize ceremonies scheduled at each of the participating schools in June. Blank checklists will be available at the event. The police department’s facilitation of this event is being accomplished with the assistance of student volunteers from the Lacey Township High School National Honor Society as well as staff members of the Lacey Township Recreation Department.
We look forwarding to seeing everyone! – Chief David A. Paprota, Ed.D.
