This online service is for victims only, who are reporting non-emergent and non-violent incidents that occurred within Lacey Township. Reports submitted through this tool will NOT generate a physical response by a Lacey Twp Police Officer. You may be contacted via phone for more information, however.

Please remember that not all types of incidents may be reported through this online portal. Further, a Lacey Township Police Officer may contact you with further questions about your reported incident.
Filing False Police Reports Filing a false police report is a crime. Any person who gives or causes to be given false information to any law enforcement officer, with respect to the commission of any crime or incident, is guilty of a fourth degree crime under the New Jersey Code of Criminal Justice (2C:28-4). Fourth degree crimes are punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000.00, or by imprisonment for not more than 18 months, or both. Violators will be prosecuted.

Criminal Mischief
Note: Criminal Mischief / Vandalism cannot be reported here if the incident was the result of an act of Domestic Violence / Restraining Order Violation or if the value of damaged property is more than $500.00.

Criminal mischief is when a person purposely or knowingly damages or destroys the tangible property of another. This also includes purposely knowingly or recklessly tampering with the tangible property of another so as to endanger a person or property.

EXAMPLE(S): Graffiti, knocking over mail box, throwing rock through windows, keying of car, denting on purpose or with an object, etc.

Harassment
Note: Harassment Cannot be reported here if you are in imminent fear for your personal safety or the incident is the result of an act of Domestic Violence and / or Restraining Order Violation. Please call the police department for an officer to respond.

A person commits the offense of harassment when, with purpose to harass another, he: a. Makes, or causes to be made, a communication or communications anonymously or at extremely inconvenient hours, or in offensively coarse language, or any other manner likely to cause annoyance or alarm; b. Subjects another to striking, kicking, shoving, or other offensive touching, or threatens to do so; or c. Engages in any other course of alarming conduct or of repeatedly committed acts with purpose to alarm or seriously annoy such other person. A communication under subsection a. may be deemed to have been made either at the place where it originated or at the place where it was received.

EXAMPLE(S): Causes the telephone of another to ring repeatedly or makes repeated telephone communications anonymously or in a manner reasonably likely to harass, annoy, alarm, abuse, torment, embarrass, or offend another. A person who engages in alarming conduct or repeatedly committing acts with the purpose of causing alarm or seriously annoying another person. Harassing phone calls, personal threats, continuous annoying acts that affect ones way of life. Annoying Phone Calls: Unwanted phone calls or other communication such as email or text messages of an annoying, harassing, or threatening nature from the caller. Someone purposely subjects you pushing, shoving, kicking, striking or threatens to do so.

Illegal Dumping
Dumping waste on public or private property that is not licensed or permitted to receive waste. Dumping waste, without a license or permit, into sewers or waterways. Allowing another to dump waste on ones land, without being licensed to receive such waste.

Note: Do not report online if you observe suspected illegal dumping in progress or if you believe a hazardous material was illegally dumped. Please call the police department immediately.

EXAMPLE(S): You see a contractor or someone else dumping trash, grass clippings, construction debris, tires, kitchen appliances or other solid waste in a secluded area and you suspect it is being dumped illegally. You observe a pickup truck enter a wooded or secluded area with construction debris in the bed and exit a short time later empty. You observe a vehicle pull up to the side of the road and quickly offload an old refrigerator and several trash bags.

Lost or Mislaid Property
When property is missing or lost.

Note: Missing or lost firearms, weapons or license plates cannot be reported online.

EXAMPLE(S):
1. You left an item on the counter of the store (such as a cell phone,wallet, purse, checkbook, or driver’s license) and returned to find it missing.
2. You left an item under your seat at a restaurant and returned to find it missing.
3. You cannot find an item and cannot remember where you last had the item in your possession..

Motor Vehicle Entry
You find that someone has either entered or stolen something from inside your car whether locked or unlocked.

EXAMPLE(S):
You notice the center console of your car is open and has been gone through, but you are sure nothing is missing. You notice that someone has entered your vehicle and has stolen some loose change etc.

Property Damage
Accidental damage to your property (Not Vandalism) or property damage that requires a report for an insurance company claim. (Make sure you also document incident by taking photographs.)

EXAMPLE(S):
Flood Damage (A water pipe breaks inside your house causing damage, etc.) Storm damage (A tree falls over and damages your house or car, etc.) Accidental damage caused by a contractor. (A lawnmower kicks up a rock accidentally damaging the siding on your house, etc.) Accidental damage caused by another. (Someone parked next to your car, opens their car door accidentally hitting your car denting or scratching the paint, etc.)

Suspicious Activity
Suspicious activity can be any event or activity you observe to involve suspicious vehicles, subjects, noises & conditions that you consider to be unusual or out of the ordinary.

A suspicious vehicle is any motor vehicle that is occupied or unoccupied, unfamiliar to you, and has been parked in the same location for an extended period of time. Please call Lacey Twp PD at 609-693-6636 or 911 if a vehicle is currently occupied by a person who attempts to hide whenever someone approaches.

A suspicious subject is any subject who is unfamiliar to the complainant and has been lingering in the immediate vicinity of any residence or business (open or closed) for an unreasonable length of time. Please call Lacey Twp PD at 609-693-6636 or 911 if the person is looking into the windows of any residence, business or vehicle; is attempting to open vehicle doors; is hiding in the shadows; is within any area with no explanation for being there.

EXAMPLE(S):
You see persons or vehicles coming and going from a location at all hours of the day and night and the visitors only stop briefly. You believe that illegal drug activity is occurring at the location.

Theft by Taking
An online report for the offense of theft can only be made if the dollar amount of the theft is less than $200.00.

*If you need an incident report to provide to your insurance carrier and you are not worried about the theft being investigated you may file a report online. Theft is when A person unlawfully takes, or exercises control over, movable property of another with the purpose to deprive the owner of thereof.

Note: Theft of a license plate, firearms or weapons may not be made online. Theft cannot be reported online if someone physically takes something from your person.

EXAMPLE(S):
Someone steals your bicycle from your front yard.

Minor Traffic Accident
An online report for traffic accidents can only be made if the dollar amount of the theft is less than $500.00. After you submit this form, you will be automatically directed to the state’s SR-21 self reporting form. You must complete this form and return it to the specified address.

Note: This tool can not be used to report accidents which resulted in injury or death to any involved person, or accidents which cause $500 or more in damage.

EXAMPLE(S):
1- You back into your mailbox, causing only minor damage.
2- Your insurance company is requiring a police report for a minor accident that occurred several days ago.
