COVID-19 Vaccines Available

COVID-19 vaccines will be available at the Lacey Township Mill Pond School on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 3-7 pm.  Anyone with questions pertaining to the event can contact the Ocean County Health Department at (732) 341-9700.

Fireworks Postponed/ July 3, 2021

Based on the available weather models at this time Fireworks have been postponed for tonight (July 3rd) due to the inclement weather forecast. We will be having fireworks on Monday July 5th. Festivities begin at 7:30pm. The forecast for Monday  is 85° sunny and clear. Happy Fourth of July!

Route 9 Closure/ July 3, 2021

Due to an early morning traffic accident, a portion of Route 9 is closed in Lanoka Harbor.  The accident occurred at the intersection of Route 9 and First Street causing significant damage to a utility pole.  JCP&L is expecting the road to be closed for a major portion of the day while repairs are made. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – June 24 through July 1, 2021

MVA- On Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 4:33 p.m., officers responded to the area of Lacey Road and Penn Avenue for a two-car MVA with injuries.  The investigation revealed that the 59 year-old male driver of a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado fell asleep and collided with another vehicle.  The second vehicle, a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, was being operated by a Lacey Township man.  One driver was transported to a trauma center for injuries. POWER OUTAGE

The Lacey Township Police Department is aware of the Power Outage affecting our community.  The outage was caused by a down wire.  A time frame for the power restoration is unknown at this time.

Burglary- On Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 10:07 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to a Tappan Street residence in reference to vehicle burglaries.  The homeowner reported that during overnight hours, unknown person(s) entered two vehicles parked in his driveway.  While inside, the actors stole a small amount of cash and a duffel bag containing clothing. Criminal Mischief- On Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 3:14 a.m., police received a call from a Brentwood Road resident reporting damage to his home.  Officers discovered that a large rock was thrown through the front window of the residence while the family slept.  A search of the area did not reveal any suspects. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – May 20 through May 26, 2021

Theft- On Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 6:53 p.m., Officer Elton Copes took a theft report from a local business.  An employee reported observing a customer acting suspicious prior to leaving the store.  Afterward, the employee discovered that her wallet was missing.  Officer Copes was able to locate the customer and recover the wallet.  No criminal charges were filed.
