On Friday, December 7, 2018, at approximately 1853 hours, officers from the Lacey Township Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on Haines Street near the intersection of Oak Hill Court.
Preliminary investigation revealed that an elderly female pedestrian walked into the east bound lane of Haines Street in front of a vehicle traveling east.
As a result of the crash, the female pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at Community Medical Center.
Responding agencies included the Lanoka Harbor EMS and MONOC Paramedics. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit also responded to assist in the investigation, as well as members of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Support Team.
