• Criminal Mischief Auto – On Monday, August 6, 2018, at 1:07 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 700 block of Spruce Road in Lanoka Harbor for a criminal mischief complaint. The caller reported that his vehicle, which was parked in the street in front of his residence, was vandalized. The passenger-side taillight was broken with no other observable damage to the bumper. The owner believes the taillight was intentionally broken.   The estimated damage is $400.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, August 6, 2018, at 12:27 p.m., Officers Michael Hutman, responded to the 200 block of Chestnut Lane in Forked River after being advised that 51-year-old Douglas L. Heege of Aldrich Road, Jackson, NJ, was present at the residence. Douglas Heege was arrested on three outstanding warrants from Brick Township Municipal Court, Ocean County Superior Court, and Freehold Township Municipal Court. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and taken to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident.
  • DWI Arrest – On Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at 2:16 a.m., Officers Michael Baldarsari, Elton Copes, and Brian Holt responded to the 1200 block of Lakeside Drive South for a disturbance. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 46-year-old Dolores E. Kenny of Pershing Avenue in Forked River for DUI. Dolores Kenney was transported to police headquarters where she was processed. She received motor vehicle summonses for Reckless Driving, DWI, and DWI with a Minor. The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, August 5, 2018, at 8:37 p.m., Officer Elton Copes was patrolling Pensacola Road when he was flagged down by a juvenile. The juvenile directed him to two street signs that were defaced with green spray paint. The Department of Public Works was notified and work orders were completed.
  • Criminal Mischief Auto – On Sunday, August 5, 2018, at 4:15 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to the intersection of Lakeside Drive East and Riverview Road in Forked River for a criminal mischief complaint. The victim reported that he parked his vehicle on the shoulder of Lakeside Drive East around noon and went on his boat. When he returned at 4 p.m., he noticed his two passenger-side tires on his vehicle were flat. Upon further inspection, he realized the tires had been slashed. The estimated damage is $400.
  • Drug Arrest – On Sunday, August 5, 2018, at 11:48 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to the parking lot of the Home Depot on Route 9 North in Forked River for a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was parked across the parking stalls with no other vehicles around it. The driver of the vehicle, 20 year-old Alexander J. Shellhamer of Woodcrest Drive in Vineland, NJ, was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in a motor vehicle. Alexander Shellhamer was transported to police headquarters, processed, and later released on a criminal summons.
  • Theft – On Sunday, August 5, 2018, at 10:02 a.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to the 400 block of Barnacle Road in Forked River for a report of theft. The caller reported that she purchased a black Dyna-Glo 3-burner grill from Home Depot. The grill was secured in the bed of her pickup truck and parked in her driveway. She went inside the house for a short period to time and when she came back outside, the tailgate of her truck was down and the grill was gone. The estimated value of the grill is $99.
  • DWI Arrest/Possession of Hypodermic Syringe- On Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 5:50 p.m. Officer Michael Hein responded to the intersection of Route 9 and Sunrise Blvd, Forked River, for a three car motor vehicle accident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Alyssa Hari, 23, of Walnut Drive, Lanoka Harbor, for DWI. She was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released. A. Harri was charged on motor vehicle summonses wth DWI and Reckless Driving. She was also charged on a criminal summons with possession of a hypodermic syringe.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 5:08 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded the Wawa on Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor for a disturbance inside the store. Officer Julie Barcalow and Scott Keefe arrived on scene to assist. The subjects were sitting outside in their vehicle. Further investigation discovered the driver, 32-year-old Raymond P. Sleeper, had two outstanding warrants out of Robbinsville, NJ, totaling $1000. Raymond Sleeper was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released on his own recognizance after receiving motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended and unregistered vehicle.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, August 3, 2018, at 9:27 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to police headquarters to process a subject turning himself in on an outstanding warrant. The subject, 31-year-old Stephen L. Carrington of Tampa Road, Forked River, was processed on a no bail warrant out of Ocean County Superior Court. Stephen Carrington was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident.
  • Theft – On Friday, August 3, 2018, at 7:12 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the 900 block of Elwood Street in Forked River to take a report of theft. The victim reported that she ordered a Samsung Galaxy S9 phone and a Galaxy Note 9 and received confirmation from FedEx that the packages had been delivered at 3:06 p.m. The victim reported that she was home all day and believes the packages were taken from her front porch without her knowledge. The total amount of the theft is $1500.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, August 3, 2018, at 9:44 a.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella responded to a motor vehicle accident on Adolphus Street and Lake Barnegat Drive North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene found the driver of the vehicle, Juan L. Arguelles Vizcarra, had an active traffic warrant out of Berkeley Township Municipal Court in the amount of $100. Juan Vizcarra was transported to police headquarters and processed.   After posting bail, he was given a courtesy ride to his residence.
