• Criminal Mischief/Graffiti — On Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 09:45 a.m., Officer Michael Hein was patrolling in the area of Lancaster Court/Sheffield Drive when he observed criminal mischief to the stop sign near Lancaster Court. The damage was estimated at $50. A work order was prepared and sent to Public Works to repair the sign.
  • Warrant Arrest — On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at 10:00 p.m., Officer Martin Julian conducted a motor vehicle stop for speeding. Investigation at the scene found the driver, 51-year-old Ronald V. Gravious, Jr. of Harbor Road in Forked River, had a suspended driver’s license and multiple traffic warrants. The first warrant was out of Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500. The second warrant was out of Bloomfield Township Municipal Court in the amount of $250. Ronald V.Gravious, Jr., also had four warrants out of Toms River Municipal Court totaling $1000. After posting bail, Ronald V. Gravious, Jr., was released without incident.
  • DUI Arrest — On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at 5:53 p.m., Officers Dan Ricciardella and Julie Barcalow responded to a motor vehicle accident on Union Court in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 32-year-old Erik J. Lazenby of Jersey City Court in Lanoka Harbor for DUI.   Erik Lazenby was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Shoplifting Arrest — On Monday, April 2, 2018, at 2:53 p.m., Officers Adam Ewart and Alan Abrecht responded to the Walmart on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 40-year-old Wendy E. Cutter of Wave Road in Manahawkin, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $92.10. Wendy was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released on a summons for shoplifting.
  • Warrant Arrest — On Monday, April 2, 2018, at 2:06 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas was on a traffic post in the area of Route 9 South and Lakeside Dr when he received a hit on his mobile data terminal (MDT) indicating that the owner of the vehicle had a suspended registration along with two active warrants. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 29-year-old Clint J. Ulrich of Rocky Mountain Court in Brick, NJ, for the two outstanding warrants. The first warrant was out of Union City Municipal Court in the amount of $109; the second warrant was out of Newark Municipal Court in the amount of $50. Clint J. Ulrich was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters and processed. Both courts were contacted and he was released on his own recognizance.
  • Theft — On Sunday, April 1, 2018, at 1:45 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to police headquarters to take a report of theft. The victim reported that on February 22, 2018, he had an H&R Block Emerald Prepaid Mastercard stolen from his wallet. The card had a value of $1000.00. The unknown actor depleted the value of the card. The victim believes that unknown person(s) took the card from his wallet and used it without his knowledge.
  • Commercial Burglary — On Sunday, April 1, 2018, at 4:40 a.m., Officers Brian Holt, Robert Duffy, and Jason Lee responded to the Burger King on Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a burglary. The assistant manager contacted the police department after finding the drive thru window smashed. Investigation at the scene revealed entry was made and over $700 in cash was stolen. Detective Flynn along with CIU arrived and processed the scene. The damage to the window is estimated at approximately $500. The burglary remains under investigation.
  • Warrant Arrest — On Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 10:42 p.m.,  Officers Jason Lee and Michael Moller responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of two males sleeping in a car. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 50-year-old Michael T. Bowman of Gladney Avenue in Toms River, NJ, for an outstanding warrant out of Lakewood Municipal Court in the amount of $250. Michael Bowman was unable to post bail and was turned over to the Lakewood Police Department without incident.
  • Theft — On Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 6:28 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters to take a report of theft.   The victim reported that sometime between March 23, 2018 and March 31, 2018, someone removed the catalytic converter from his vehicle that was stored at Lacey Collision on Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor. The catalytic converter was valued at $500.00. This incident remains under investigation.
  • Fires — On Friday, March 30, 2018, at 2:25 p.m., Officer Jeffery Slota responded to the 600 block of Sinclair Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a fire. Investigation at the scene revealed an electrical short in the outside power lines may have caused a fire on the side of the residence causing damage to the outside vegetation and the siding of the house. Lanoka Harbor Fire Company responded. Detectives Brian Flynn and Samuel Della Sala from the Lacey Township Police Department along with Investigator Brian Mount from the Fire Marshal Service are investigating the incident.
