• Burglary/Theft – On Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 7:06 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the area of Bayberry Drive, Lanoka Harbor, on a report of a burglary and theft to the residence. The homeowner reported that sometime between November 4, 2017 and November 6, 2017 unknown person(s) entered the crawl space area under their home and cut out sections of copper. The cost of the damage is unknown at this time until the homeowner receives an estimate from a licensed plumber.
  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 5:33 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the area of Hemlock Lane, Forked River, on a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. The victim reported that sometime during the overnight hours of November 9, 2017, unknown person(s) shattered the rear window of his 2017 Nissan pickup truck. The estimated damage to the vehicle was $2,000.
  • Drug Possession (Arrests) – On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 9:18 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was patrolling in the area of Enterprise Drive in Forked River. Officer Sarno observed suspicious activity involving two male occupants in a parked motor vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 36-year-old Robert Ellingham of Conifer Drive, Forked River, for possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sergeant Robert Surtees arrived to assist with the investigation and arrested 35-year-old Robert Prosperi, Jr., of Enterprise Drive, Forked River for possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic syringe. Both were transported to police headquarters, processed and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
  • Burglary (Auto) – On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 4:14 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to police headquarters to take a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The victim reported that on November 7, 2017, she was at Ignite Gymnastics, located at 702 Challenger Way in Forked River, when she returned to her vehicle and noticed items missing from the center console including her wallet containing $35, a prepaid Visa Debit Card, her NJ Driver’s License, Social Security Card, and health insurance card. The total amount of items missing is estimated at approximately $75.
  • MV stop/Warrant (Arrest) – On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 8:32 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe was observing traffic when he received a hit on his mobile data terminal (MDT) indicating that the registered owner had an expired driver’s license. The registered owner received a summons for unlicensed driver. The passenger of the vehicle, 42-year-old Calvin C. Taylor, Joe Parker Road, Lakewood, NJ, was asked if he possessed a valid driver license so that he could drive the vehicle. A check of his license revealed that he had an outstanding non-support warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office in the bail amount of $3546. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. Calvin C. Taylor was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
  • DUI (Arrest) – On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 1:15 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Manchester and Haines for an erratic driver. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 21-year-old Amanda Tuttle of Highland Drive, Barnegat, NJ, for Driving While Intoxicated. She was transported to police headquarters and processed and released on three motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, and Open Container. The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday, November 6, 2017, at 5:13 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the Home Depot, Route 9 N, Forked River for a report of a suspicious person.   The suspect, 36-year-old Michael D. Minarik, of Water Street Barnegat, NJ, was seen by store employees concealing multiple items inside a toolbox totaling $240.59. Michael D. Minaraik was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released on a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Fraud – On Monday, November 6, 2017, at 2:18 p.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraudulent activity. The victim reported that her PNC Bank account had unauthorized activity on it since December of 2016. The company in question was contacted with negative results. The total amount of the fraud is estimated at over $1400. The victim will follow up with PNC Bank’s Fraud Department.
  • Warrant (Arrest) –On Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 9:22 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to police headquarters to process 42-year-old Nirvana Antonio-Quinones of Beverly Road, Forked River, for an outstanding warrant in the bail amount of $1,500 out of Edison Township Municipal Court for 2C:21-5. She posted bail and was released.
  • Aggressive Driving Incident (Arrest) – On Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 11:52 a.m., Officers Jesse Dalziel, Dimitrios Tsarnas and Special Officer Matthew DeCataldo responded to the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot, on 338 Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a road rage incident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 22-year-old James E. Whitley, Horner Lane, Forked River, for Aggravated Assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and terroristic threats. Whitley brandished a knife and threatened the 20-year-old male driver of the other vehicle involved. James E. Whitley was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing. He was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
  • Underage Possession of Alcohol – On Friday, November 3, 2017, at 8:41 p.m., Officer John McKee was on conducting a building check of the Lanoka Harbor Elementary School, 281 Manchester Avenue, Lanoka Harbor, when he noticed a suspicious vehicle with its lights off in the rear parking lot of the school. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a 15-year-old juvenile female for possession of Alcoholic Beverages by Persons under Legal Age. She was processed and released to her parent.
  • Theft – On Friday, November 3, 2017, at 2:21 p.m., Officer George Resetar responded to police headquarters to take a report of theft. The owner of the building reported that two thermostats were stolen from the downstairs of the Bacorp Building, 1044 Lacey Road in Forked River. The value of the two thermostats is approximately $100.00.
