Department News – Members of the Forked River Volunteer Fire Department met up with a group of officers from the Lacey Township Police Department for a friendly competition on the gridiron on Sunday, November 1, 2015. The teams played touch football with family members and friends cheering them on. Some spectacular plays were made throughout the game including a 25 yard diving catch for a touchdown by Lacey PD’s Chris Meyler (see photo below) as well as an impressive one-handed interception across the middle by Lacey PD’s Dan Ricciardella. In the end, Lacey PD came away with the 42 to 14 victory over the tough and very athletic group from the Forked River Volunteer Fire Department. This event was an excellent opportunity for our local emergency services units to come together with family and friends in a healthy and positive environment. This is one of hopefully many other athletic events Lacey PD would like to plan for the future. Thanks again to the Forked River Volunteer Fire Department for making the game possible and such a great event for all.
