- DUI (Arrest) – On Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 12:24 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North near Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver identified as 29-year-old Victoria L. Thomas of Alpine Street in Forked River for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Victoria L. Thomas was charged on traffic summonses with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Theft – On Monday, February 23, 2015, at 8:03 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the 400 block of Beach Boulevard in Forked River for a theft. The victim reported that between the hours of 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2015, her bedroom was entered and approximately $50 in loose change was removed. The victim provided the name of a suspect who was in the residence during the time in question. There were no signs of forced entry.

Trespassing – On Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 1:45 p.m., Officers Evan Androcy and Darrell Nick responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of an adult male trespassing in the store. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 37-year-old Charles Wolf of Keller Street in Bayville, NJ, for defiant trespass. Charles Wolf was previously informed he was no longer allowed in the store after allegedly threatening an employee. Charles Wolf was charged with Defiant Trespassing.

DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 4:42 a.m., Officer George Resetar responded to Teakwood Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a suspicious incident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 22-year-old Richard A. Vogel, Jr. of Revere Drive in Little Egg Harbor, NJ, for DUI. Richard Vogel, Jr., was transported to police headquarters, processed, and issued summonses for DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 10:37 p.m., Officer Adam Ewart conducted a traffic stop on Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 18-year-old Louis Dautorio of Center Street in Forked River for Possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Louis Dautorio was charged on a criminal summons with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, he was charged on traffic summonses with Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Speeding.

Traffic Accident – On Friday, February 20, 2015, at 12:32 P.M., Officers Noah Schaffer, Michael Hein, and Jeffrey Slota responded to Route 9 North near Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor for a one-car motor vehicle crash involving a utility pole. The utility pole split causing live electrical wires to fall to the ground. The investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling northbound on Route 9 after leaving the Wawa when it veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole. The vehicle’s driver, 53-year-old Lisa Licknack of Kennebec Road in Forked River, sustained a minor injury and was transported to the hospital. She later received traffic summonses for Careless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor was closed for several hours between South Street and Route 9 while the utility pole was repaired. The Lanoka Harbor Fire Department, along with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, assisted at the scene.

Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, February 19, 2015, at 6:05 p.m., Officers Elton Copes and Dimitrios Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Lakeside Drive South near Parker Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 25-year-old Andrew C. Simon, 3rd of Conifer Drive in Forked River, on a Pine Beach Borough Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500 and two Monmouth Beach Municipal Court warrants in the amount of $750 each. Andrew Simons, 3rd was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and then released after posting full bail on the warrants. Andrew Simons 3rd was also charged on traffic summonses with Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.

Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 9:30 p.m., Officer Charles May conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North near Liberty Way in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 35-year-old Jennifer Toomey of Ash Road in Lanoka Harbor on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. She was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and released after posting full bail. Jennifer Toomey was also charged on traffic summonses with Driving with a Suspended License and Failure to Exhibit an Insurance Card.

Shoplifting and Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 1:36 p.m., Officers Frederick Anderson and Jason Lee responded to Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for the report of shoplifting. The complainant reported that a male and female attempted to push a shopping cart full of merchandise out of the store without paying before being stopped by loss prevention employees. The couple left the cart and fled the area in a vehicle. A description of the vehicle, along with the license plate number was provided. Officer Jeffrey Slota located the vehicle on Surrey Court in Forked River and conducted a traffic stop. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 20-year-old Jessica Calpin of Hawser Drive in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $809.67 from Walmart. The male passenger, identified as 33-year-old Christopher Parker of Frederick Drive in Bayville, was arrested on several outstanding warrants. The warrants included a Berkeley Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $476, a Wall Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $104, and a Little Egg Harbor Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $300. They were transported to police headquarters and processed. Jessica Calpin was charged on a criminal summons with Shoplifting. Christopher Parker was turned over to the custody of the Berkeley Township Police Department. The male subject who was involved in the initial shoplifting has yet to be identified and charges are pending. The investigation is continuing.

Theft from a Vehicle – On Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 1:01 p.m., Officers Frederick Anderson and Jason Lee responded to Riggs Funeral Home located at 130 Route 9 North in Forked River for a theft from a vehicle. The complainant reported that between Thursday, January 29, 2015, and Wednesday, February 18, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle parked in the parking lot and stole a stereo head unit valued at $250.

Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, February 18, 2015, at 1:26 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno stopped a suspicious male walking on Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old Kevin Braun of Arverne Avenue in Ocean Gate, NJ, on an outstanding Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $400. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kevin Braun was turned over to the custody of the Toms River Township Police Department.
