• Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 9:34 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the Walmart , located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a car burglary that just occurred in the parking lot.   A vehicle description was provided. Responding officers located and stopped the vehicle in the ShopRitePlaza, located at 348 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 57-year- old Allan C. Morgan, Jr., of Hampton, Virginia, for burglary of an automobile and the theft of a Garmin GPS and a pack of cigarettes, with a total value of $58. Further investigation revealed that Allan C. Morgan, Jr., shoplifted a Marketside Italian Hero, valued at $3.98, while he was in the Walmart, just prior to the auto burglary. He was also found to be in possession of CDS. Allen C. Morgan was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving criminal summonses for Burglary, Theft , Shoplifting, Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • DUI Arrest – On Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 11:39 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop in the area of Beach Boulevard and Bahama Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 21-year-old Carley Adamczyk, of Leeward Road in Stafford, NJ for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Carley Adamczyk was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and Failure to Stop. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 7:25 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the 500 Block of Windsor Street in Forked River for a report of damage to a vehicle. The vehicle owner reported that between 7:00 p.m. on May 30, 2017 and 7:00 p.m. on May 31, 2017, an unknown person or persons damaged the rear passenger side door of his vehicle by scratching the paint. The damage is estimated at $500.
  • Theft – On Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 6:57 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the 700 Block of Tampa Road in Forked River for a report of theft. The homeowner reported that between 4:30 p.m. on May 30, 2017 and 6:30 p.m. on May 31, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered his backyard and stole five (5) Autocraft car batteries with a total value of $650.
  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Wednesday, May 31, 2017, Officer Holt responded to the Barnegat Pines Section of Forked River for reports of criminal mischief to eleven (11) vehicles. Residences on Bullard Avenue, Chelsea Street, Falkenburg Avenue, Shepard Avenue, Penn Avenue, Station Drive and Wainwright Street were affected. The vehicles were parked both on the roadway and in the driveways. The involved damage ranged from one damaged tire per vehicle to all four tires per vehicle being damaged. The total damage at this time is estimated at $3000.00  The incident remains under investigation.
  • DUI with Motor Vehicle Crash (Arrest) – On Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 8:44 p.m., Officers Michael Baldasari and Julie Barcalow responded to Caffrey’s, located at 440 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of a motor vehicle crash. The driver, 54-year-old Paul T. Gerhauser, of G Street in Forked River, reportedly backed his vehicle into two parked cars. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Paul T. Gerhauser for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Paul T. Gerhauser was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Improper Backing. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Shoplifting – On Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 3:08 p.m., Lieutenant Vincent Meehan and Officer Darrell Nick responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of two shoplifters. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a 17-year-old female juvenile from Bayville, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $9.76, and the arrest of  18-year-old Kevin Fair of Seaside Heights, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $29.84.  The juvenile was released at the scene to the custody of a family member. She will be charged on a juvenile complaint with Shoplifting. K. Fair was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 4:02 a.m., Sergeant Robert Surtees, along with Officers Michael Baldasari and Scott Keefe responded to the 800 block of Route 9 S, near the Oyster Creek Power Plant, in Forked River, for a report of two suspicious males that were observed walking near the fence. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 38-year-old Michael Bezak of Letts Landing in Waretown, NJ, on two outstanding no-bail warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department and warrant number two (2) was issued from the Berkeley Township Municipal Court. Michael Bezak was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was later lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
  • DUI Arrest – On Monday, May 29, 2017, at 7:09 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North near Jones Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 57-year-old Robert L. DeFelice, of South Ocean Avenue in Seaside Park, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Robert DeFelice was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Shoplifting – On Monday, May 29, 2017, at 4:54 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the Wal-Mart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for the report of a female shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 38-year-old Brenna A. Haase of Elwood Street in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $56.69. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Brenna A. Haase was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
  • Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, May 28, 2017, at 9:06 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota was on patrol in the 5000 block of Lacey Road in Forked River, when he located damage to a property gate. During the overnight hours, an unknown person or persons damaged the lock on the gate. The damaged lock is estimated at $35.
  • Drug Arrest– On Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 5:00 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North near Walmart in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a passenger, identified as 19-year-old Antonio C. Cardoso of Emmet Street in Newark, NJ for possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Antonio C. Cardoso was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less.
  • Theft – On Sunday, May 28, 2017, at 12:23 p.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to the 500 block of Route 9 South in Forked River, for a theft. The property owner stated that an outside air conditioning condensing unit had just been stolen. The owner stated that the units are alarmed and the alarm went off alerting him to the theft. The unit is valued at $5000. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Trespassing – On Saturday, May 27, 2017, at 7:24 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the Wawa, located at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River, for an unwanted person. Investigation at the scene led to a Special Form of Complaint and Summons being issued to 56-year-old Jerilyn Wilbert of Lincoln Avenue in Seaside Heights, NJ, for Trespassing. She had been previously advised she was not allowed on the property as per Wawa management and had returned.
  • DUI Arrest – On Saturday, May 27, 2017, at 4:40 a.m., Officer John McKee responded to West Lacey Road, near the intersection of Carriage Road, in Forked River, for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. A description of the vehicle was provided and Officer McKee located it. An Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 25-year-old Bryce M. Allen of Jeffer Court in Wyckoff, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Bryce M. Allen was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Shoplifting – On Friday, May 26, 2017, at 7:49 p.m., Officers Elton Copes and Patrick Watkins responded to the Wawa, located at 444 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of a female shoplifter, who fled on foot. A description was provided by the Wawa employee. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 27-year-old Melissa Loehnert of Eagleswood Place in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $11.65. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Melissa Loehnert was charged on a criminal warrant for Shoplifting and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
