HeatWarning[1]An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect from Saturday AM through Monday PM for most New Jersey counties.  Heat index values may range from 100°F to 105°F Saturday afternoon.  An Air Quality Alert is posted statewide from 11 AM to 11 PM today.  A small craft advisory is in effect for coastal waters from 2 PM today through 5 AM Saturday.  Thunderstorms with gusty winds are possible this afternoon and evening.  Due to the high heat index and poor air quality, the public should take special precautions to prevent heat stress for the elderly, children, people who work outside and pets.  The Lacey Township Police Department encourages all citizens to stay indoors as much as possible this weekend, take the necessary precautions to avoid the harmful impacts of the high temperatures, drink plenty of water and dial 911 immediately if you are experiencing any heat-related illnesses.
