The Township of Lacey promoted David A. Paprota, Ed.D., to the position of Chief of Police at the Township Committee Meeting on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Chief Paprota is a 23 year law enforcement veteran who has served as the Captain of the police department since 2005. The primary tasks moving forward have been identified as follows: (1) reorganizing the rank structure and assignments within the department to provide for the most efficient and effective operations; (2) increasing the use of technology to better serve the public; (3) greater interagency collaboration to combat some of the most troubling issues facing the community; and (4) implementation and consistent participation in initiatives to bring the department better in touch with the community and the community better in touch with the police department.
