Theft- On Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 2:24 p.m., Officer Michael Hutman responded to Kohls in reference to the theft of cash.  The caller reported exiting the store and accidently leaving her wallet in her shopping cart.  Once realizing the misplacement of the wallet she returned to customer service where someone had located and returned the wallet.  The caller reported that the wallet contained approximately $600 cash which was missing when the wallet was returned to her.

Arrest- On Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 10:01 p.m., Officers Randolph Plis and Brian Holt responded to the parking lot of 403 Route 9 in reference to an adult female sleeping inside a vehicle parked in the lot.  Once arrived, officers found 34 year-old Jamie Urban asleep in the car with drug paraphernalia in her possession.  Urban was placed under arrest and an amount of heroin was discovered.  Urban was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe.  She was also issued a motor vehicle summons for possessing a controlled substance in a vehicle.  Urban was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in accordance with bail reform.   

Shoplifting- On Sunday, January 19, 2020, at 6:27 p.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella was dispatched to Walmart for a theft.  Loss Prevention reported that an adult female concealed an undetermined amount of items while inside the store.  As Loss Prevention Officers approached her, the suspect ran to her vehicle and drove from the lot.  Surveillance footage is being used to identify the actor and the vehicle.  

DWI- On Monday, January 20, 2020, at 5:50 p.m., Officer Michael Hein stopped a motor vehicle for a red light violation.  During the stop, Officer Hein arrested the driver for being under the influence.  Dan Backhaus, 64, was charged with DWI and Reckless Driving prior to being released on his own recognizance. 

Arrest- On Monday, January 20, 2020, at 11:05 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 for speeding.  During the stop, a passenger in the vehicle, William Jeffers, Jr., 29, was arrested for possessing marijuana.  Jeffers was charged with the same and released pending a Court appearance.    

Shoplifting- On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at 11:23 a.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella was dispatched to The Beauty Store for a theft.  A sales associate reported that on January 20, 2020, an adult female had concealed merchandise in her purse.  The female then left the store without paying for the merchandise.  Surveillance footage is being used to identify the actor.

Arrest- On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at 10:56 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the Beachwood Police Department where he took custody of Brendan Coyle.  Coyle, 26, was arrested by a Beachwood officer for an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant.  The $750 warrant was issued for failure to appear.  He was transferred to the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
