• DUI Arrest – On Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at 5:52 a.m., Officers Dimitrios Tsarnas and John Cernek conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road near the intersection of Dover Road in Forked River. Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas’s investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 61-year-old Alan Candeletti of Olds Street in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Fraud (Credit Card) – On Monday, August 14, 2017, at 11:39 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to Lacey Headquarters located at 808 Lacey Road, Forked River, for a credit card fraud. Investigation at the scene revealed that the Lacey Township Resident had been a victim of credit card fraud involving her Kohl’s account. A purchase in the amount of $754.15 was falsely charged to her account from Kohl’s store in Easton Pennsylvania on July 10, 2017. The matter is under investigation.
  • Theft – On Monday, August 14, 2017, at 6:25 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the Lacey Shell Station located at 922 Lacey Road, Forked River, for a theft report. Investigation at the scene revealed that an employee of the gas station had left a five gallon gas can behind the dumpster at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2017. When he returned at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2017, the can was gone. The gas can was valued at $20.00.
  • Burglary – Residential – On Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 7:14 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Christopher Meyler responded to the 400 block of Center Street, Forked River, for a report of an open door. Investigation at the scene revealed that the front door appeared to have been forced open. The residence was checked and found to be vacant. Attempts to reach the property owner were unsuccessful. At this time it is unknown if anything was taken and the matter is still under investigation.
  • Warrant(s) Arrest – On Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 2:13 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari observed a suspicious male in the neighborhood of Oxford Road/Drexel Road Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 28-year-old Carmine R. Sperrazza, of Freehold Road, Toms River, New Jersey, on the following outstanding warrants: (1) Traffic Warrant for driving while suspended out of Berkeley Township in the bail amount of $1,129; (2) Traffic Warrant for driving while suspended out of Wall Township in the bail amount of $1,273; (3) Criminal Warrant for possession of prescription legend drugs out of Toms River in the bail amount of $500; and (4) Criminal Warrant for noise/fireworks out of Belmar Borough in the amount of $257. He was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed and transported to the Toms River Police Department, who assumed his custody.
  • Underage Public Consumption of Alcohol Arrest – On Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 2:05 a.m., Officers Jason Lee and Michael Verwey responded to the Ocean Beach Marina located at 700 Barramore Avenue, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a fight. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Roger J. Corrales, 3rd, of Brigantine Road in Manahawkin, New Jersey, for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. He was issued a special complaint summons and released.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 12:18 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a motor vehicle stop by the area of Beach Boulevard and Biscayne Drive, Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old Erika L. Fratello of Carteret Avenue in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, on an outstanding warrant for Driving While Suspended out of Seaside Heights in the bail amount of $350. She was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail.
  • Theft – Bicycle – On Friday, August 11, 2017, at 11:18 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a stolen bicycle. Investigation at the scene revealed that the owner had left her bicycle outside of the Walmart and when she exited the store, her bicycle was gone. The bicycle is a white beach cruiser with blue detailing and a blue basket in front of the handlebars and is valued at approximately $120. Video surveillance was provided along with photos of the suspect who remains at large.
  • CDS Arrest – On Friday, August 11, 2017, at 8:07 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari observed a vehicle parked on the northern most side of Cedar Creek School located at 220 Western Boulevard, Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 22-year-old Vincenzo A. Rotella, of Mehar Court, Toms River, New Jersey, for possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after being served with criminal summonses for Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
  • Criminal Mischief/ Residence – On Friday, August 11, 2017, at 2:40 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the 700 block of Oxford Road in Lanoka Harbor for a report of criminal mischief. Investigation at the scene revealed that the glass of the front storm door of the residence had been broken. No entry was made into the residence and the property owner was advised. Damage to the storm door was valued at $100.00.
  • Theft – On Friday, August 11, 2017, at 2:31 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 500 block of Chelsea Street, Forked River, for a theft report. Investigation at the scene revealed that the caller was inside her residence when she observed an older model red or brown two-door pickup truck backed in to her driveway. A white, blond female approximately 40-years-old and 130 pounds wearing a black shirt exited the truck and proceeded to take a window room air conditioner, which had been on the ground between her two closed garage doors. The woman then placed the air conditioner in the bed of her truck and left the residence. The air conditioner is valued at approximately $100. The suspect remains at large.
