***** UPDATE 8:01 P.M. JULY 9, 2017  *****

THE POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED IN LACEY TOWNSHIP AND ALL TRAFFIC LIGHTS ARE FUNCTIONING

Lacey Township has experienced a power outage throughout  most of the township this evening at approximately 5:30 p.m. (Sunday, July 9, 2017). All of the traffic lights throughout the township are out, except for those traffic lights north of Lacey Road on Route 9 (except for Route 9 and Musket). The traffic lights are being controlled by police officers.  As a result, residents are being asked to temporarily stay off the roadways for safety reasons until the power comes back on. The power company is currently working to correct the problem (believed to be several damaged transformers).

Please note, this outage is also affecting Ocean (Waretown) and Barnegat Townships.

Thank you.
