Senator Christopher Connors & Officer Michael Eden 11-14-13

Special Honors – On Thursday, November 14, 2013, at the Lacey Township Committee Meeting, Officer Michael Eden received special recognition and honors regarding his heroic actions on Friday, October 18, 2013, when he saved a 28-year-old pregnant woman (Brittany Bodzak) from a burning home at 2:35 a.m. on Lane Place in Forked River. New Jersey State Senator Christopher J. Connors personally attended the meeting and presented Officer Eden with a Proclamation from both the New Jersey State Senate and Assembly which was signed by Senator Christopher J. Connors, Assemblyman Brian E. Rumpf, and Assemblywoman DiAnne C. Gove. Officer Eden was awarded the Medal of Valor by Chief David A. Paprota, and he received a Proclamation from the Mayor and Township Committee. United States Congressman Jon Runyan also forwarded a Congressional Proclamation which was presented by the Township Committee to Officer Eden at the meeting along with a letter from Governor Chris Christie. It was a very special night for the Eden Family along with his extended family (each and every member of the Lacey Township Police Department).
