The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) from within the United States Department of Energy has provided the following public notification:

The third Interagency Aerial Response WINGS exercise, sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and hosted by the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), will be held June 20–24, 2016 in Ocean County, New Jersey.

On June 21, 2016 through June 23, 2016 more than 12 aircraft, fixed-wing and rotary, with radiation detection capabilities will conduct low-level flyovers throughout the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York in support of the exercise.

This exercise will allow local, state, and federal aerial assets who support the northeast region of the United States and beyond the opportunity to improve their radiological emergency response techniques while exercising the integration of multiple airframes, agencies, and jurisdictions into a larger unified response. Air operations will be managed out of the Ocean County Airport in Berkeley Township, New Jersey.

Aerial assets include those from the DOE, EPA, Custom Border and Protection (CBP), New York Police Department (NYPD), Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD), Philadelphia Police Department (PPD), Florida Department of Health Bureau of Radiation Control (FDOH BRC), Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Aviation Unit, Delaware State Police (DSP), and the US Army 244th Aviation Brigade with the 20th CBRNE Command.
