Very Small PatchDrug Distribution Arrests – On the evening of Thursday, May 23, 2013, Lacey Township Police Department detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Lacey Road and Newark Avenue as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. A search of the stopped vehicle yielded 260 bags of heroin and led to the arrest of the occupants of the vehicle. 

Passengers in the vehicle, 28-year-old William Shelby, Jr. of Clubhouse Drive (also Chelsea Street) in Forked River and 48-year-old Diane Marie Cannito of Lake Barnegat Drive in Forked River were charged with Possession of Heroin and Intent to Distribute Heroin. Both Forked River residents were lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.  The street value of the drugs is estimated at over $3,000.

The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Brendan Gallivan of 7th Street in Waretown, was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin and issued an additional charge of having a controlled substance inside the vehicle.  Another passenger, 23-year-old Lauren Jaegge of Pine Tree Road in Forked River, was also charged with Possession of Heroin.  Both were released on their own recognizance pending a court appearance.

Detectives were assisted by Patrolmen Charles May and Michael Eden. Two K-9 officers from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department were utilized to locate the narcotics that were hidden inside the vehicle.
