Retired Police Officer Richard Barbosa (Funeral Services) – The Lacey Township Police Department is mourning the loss of retired Police Officer Richard Barbosa who passed away at 66 years-of-age on Friday, December 27, 2013. The services for Richard Barbosa are set for Thursday, January 2, 2014, with the viewing scheduled from 4 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 7:30 p.m. at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 N. Rt. 9, Forked River.
Richard Barbosa moved to Lacey Township in 1972 and served as a Lacey Township Police Officer until his retirement in 2006 after 25 years of service. Rich will be most remembered in the department for the true love and caring he demonstrated for animals which was evident every day that he worked as a police officer in Lacey Township.
