Criminal Mischief- On Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 10:03 p.m., while closing the Gille Park, Officer Hyle located graffiti in both the men’s and women’s bathroom near the softball field.  The estimated value in damage was $50.00. DWI- On Monday, May 23, 2022, at 3:12 p.m. Officer Emmett responded to the Ocean County Library, 10 East Lacey Road, for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. Upon arrival, Officer Emmett located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Library and conducted a motor vehicle stop. DWI/Possession of CDS- On Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 12:26 a.m., Officer Hyle observed a vehicle parked on Sandy Hook Drive with the driver slumped over the wheel and the engine running. Officer Hyle approached the driver, Kenneth Novak (32), of 711 Buena Vista Road, and observed wax folds (heroin) on the driver’s lap.  Investigation at the scene revealed that Kenneth was under the influence. Shoplifting- On Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 11:43 a.m., Officer Carver and Officer Emmett responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival officers met with the Asset Protection Associate, who indicated Natalie Sabie (34) of 755 Birch Road, had stolen $134.47 worth of merchandise from the store.  Natalie was arrested and transported to police headquarters. Motor Vehicle Burglary- On April 28, 2022, at 10:39 a.m., Officer Carver responded to the 1200 block of Plover Court for a report of a vehicle burglary. The caller reported someone entered their unsecured vehicle and stole $1000 worth in property.  This case is under investigation. Motor Vehicle Crash/DWI- On Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 8:33 p.m., multiple officers, including Officers Copes, responded to Route 9 South and Taylor Lane for a report of a crash.  Investigation at the scene reveled one of the drivers, Shirley R. Warrant Arrest- On Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 8:52 p.m., Officer Hyle responded to police headquarters for a report of a male subject who had an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant and wished to turn himself in.  Officer Hyle met with Carmelo Perez Jr (49), of Atlantic City, and confirmed the warrant.  Carmelo was placed under arrest and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident.   Disorderly Conduct- On Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 9:53 a.m., Officers Matthew D’Antonio and Jason Lee responded to the Lacey Mall after a caller reported that a male suspect was shooting a bb gun from a vehicle.  Although the suspect was not present upon arrival of officers, they were able to identify the actor as Ryedan Ashworth, 18.  Officers also confirmed that Ashworth was shooting a water bead gun rather than a bb gun.  [...]

Shoplifting- On March, 24, 2022, at 1:12 p.m., Officer D’Antonio responded to Kohl’s for a shoplifting incident. Upon arrival, Officer D’Antonio met with the loss prevention employee who reported on February 19, 2022, two unknown females, shoplifted approximately $3,200.00 worth of merchandise, and left in a silver vehicle.  This incident is under investigation.
